NHALS = NFL purgatory
Apparently, this was to pay for the signings already made.

In order to be salary cap compliant when all these contracts are made official, it has been reported by overthecap.com (OTC) that the Steelers have restructured Minkah Fitzpatrick‘s contract in order to create around $10 million in cap space.

They didn't offer RFA tenders to Hassenhaur, Sims, and Pierre, which seems odd....Even if those guys don't resign, they'll need a small amount of cap space for their replacements.Jobu wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 2:53 pmApparently, this was to pay for the signings already made.

Yes. The $10.065M saved by Minkah's restructure will be almost exactly what Larry O's, Holcomb's and Kazee's '23 cap hit total. (within $500k is my best guess)Jobu wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 2:53 pmApparently, this was to pay for the signings already made.

Like I said in the ILB E. Roberts thread, I'm wondering/thinking he (Roberts) just might be Jack's replacement. If so, there'll be some added cap savings to work with there, too.Pabst wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 3:02 pmThey didn't offer RFA tenders to Hassenhaur, Sims, and Pierre, which seems odd....Even if those guys don't resign, they'll need a small amount of cap space for their replacements.Jobu wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 2:53 pmApparently, this was to pay for the signings already made.
