POS of the game is Tomlin hands down. This shitty game should hang around his neck.

Watt took off the play when McCafferty took it to the house. He couldn’t have been gassed because it was the second or third play of the half? Unless Watt has a T-800 Cyberdyne computer that figures out acceleration deltas in a split second, I thought he could have tackled McCafferty for a loss with some more hustle.
Obviously I will give home benefit of the doubt. It was a strange play! Could have been camera angle or something too.

Comments like this and constantly doubling down on Watt not being good removes what little credibility you have hereSteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:02 pmLolololz

I said this in the game thread. WTF was he doing on that play? He was unblocked and did nothing but fall on a d-lineman.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:05 pmWatt took off the play when McCafferty took it to the house. Someone said it looked like Bush….and it did. I guess if you have a motor like his you have to take certain plays off to recover or else you will redline on heat and oxygen deprivation and assume the other half of the defense will do their job. That did not happen on that play.Baltostiller wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:09 pmI said this in the game thread. WTF was he doing on that play? Other than Watt, did a single Steeler make more than 1 positive play today? 3 sacks, 2 FF and a recovery is a career day for most edge rushers and we’ve got people bitching about him.

And……do you really think it’s acceptable to lose that fumble to Purdy ?

Patrick Peterson looked pretty decent even on the TD scores on him….2 knock downs and super tight coverage in the TD.Steelperch wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:26 pmOther than Watt, did a single Steeler make more than 1 positive play today? 3 sacks, 2 FF and a recovery is a career day for most edge rushers and we’ve got people bitching about him.

I think the issue is whether it’s Watt’s fault that forcing multiple fumbles and recording multiple sacks amounts to not winning.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:32 pmI don’t doubt the stats. And……do you really think it’s acceptable to lose that fumble to Purdy ?
Your suggestion seems to be that he’s average despite his sacks, which seems retarded.
The other inference would seem to be that everyone else around him comes up small.

Yeah, aside from giving up 2 TDs he played out of his mind. Shocked he never picked off that predictable SF offense.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:39 pmPatrick Peterson looked pretty decent even on the TD scores on him….2 knock downs and super tight coverage in the TD.

Only STD would point out that on the one strip sack, wee little Purdy got the loose ball and not Watt.
To be fair, his big plays all seemed to come when they were down 20.Professor Half Wit wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:42 pmI think the issue is whether it’s Watt’s fault that forcing multiple fumbles and recording multiple sacks amounts to not winning.
Just saying, if there was ever a case to be made for STD's "Low Watt" claim, today was probably it.

What does Minkah Fitzpatrick do, exactly? Because all I know is people keep telling me he’s a top 3 safety in the NFL, and obviously paid like one.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:41 pmExactlySteelperch wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:26 pmOther than Watt, did a single Steeler make more than 1 positive play today? 3 sacks, 2 FF and a recovery is a career day for most edge rushers and we’ve got people bitching about him.

For about 5 mins
Maybe he should just be pulled off the field when we are down big so he can’t make any Low Watt plays.
you type things like this, and it makes me question if you have any concept of what it takes to play footballSteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:32 pmI don’t doubt the stats. Purdy lost the ball and recovered the ball, before Watt even had an opportunity to go for the ball
Watt was

While you lambaste Watt, you missed that huge wad of cash weighing down Alex Highsmith all day...

Is Watt single handedly supposed to win the game?
Did the offense have more than negative two yards at the time?
It’s like the stupid debate about the KC playoff loss when the offense did literally nothing until prevent garbage time, but Ben is great and Watt who scored a touch down is average.

I just mean our defense didn’t look bad today…they looked dreadful. Total confusion and general slop. What I was hoping for was our all world safety to step up and adjust to what Shannahan was doing with Aiyuk, but nothing. Deebo had a quiet game but man, really nothing for Aiyuk?
If a defense is supposed to be as good as everyone says it is then surely they could stop something eventually, right?
At least we were consistent today; as in consistently bad. The run defense and the pass defense were downright putrid.

I'm of the opinion, that when you run the same defensive scheme for 31 years, and refuse to make personnel adjustments, other teams- with coaches that scheme to personnel, will generally beat you.Orangesteel wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:54 pmI just mean our defense didn’t look bad today…they looked dreadful. Hense, what we saw today
On offense-
the play calling was fucking retarded
The OLine played like crap
Kenny might as well go back to college. Really poor vision and decision making. Worse throws, and Duck hodges level arm and accuracy
It is fair - today Watt was as invisible as everyone else when the game was in contention. Watt was nowhere to be found while they were rolling us on their way to a 20pt lead.Professor Half Wit wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 9:54 pmBut it’s not fair.
