NCAA caves again...Alabama in, Florida State out
NCAA caves again...Alabama in, Florida State out
They just couldn't shut out the SEC from the playoffs, so once again prove that results mean nothing...it's all about status and prestige.
Hope the Tide get walloped.

I'm now stuck in "root your conference" mode, but my heart agrees. Honestly, would be cool to see UW take it home for the Pac-12 in their final season. Gonna miss those Friday latenight games.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
Florida State shouldn't have gotten in because they didn't look good against #14 Louisville. Instead, let's go with this team that needed a freaking miracle to beat Auburn last week.
I'd have more respect for the NCAA if they just came out and admitted this was all about $ and TV ratings.

I can't tell you how much fun I'm having / will have trolling Ohio State fans over the next few weeks.
My expectations were 7 wins heading into this season, so the fact that Mizzou is in a NY6 Bowl is just gravy. Nothing to lose
We won't be in a very good mood about it. The trolling, that is. I'm looking forward to seeing the young kids get a chance to show out. I'd assume you're probably not going to be seeing many starters on the Buckeye sidelines.
Definitely not McCord.

Firmly believe undefeated power 5 champ should’ve gotten in as in years past.
Still, the Florida State win over Louisville was even more unwatchable than Cheating Jimmy Harbs win over a historically inept Iowa team.
Money is indeed the root of this injustice, but yet it’s justified from a purely entertainment perspective.
Georgia being favored by a whopping 14.5 over FSU proof enough the committee got it right
Nobody outside of Tallahassee wants to spend their New Year’s Eve watching a Pittsburgh Steelers-like offense.
This is supposed to be fun
Bad offense doesn’t sell.
The result?
FSU and their horrific ACC/CW network are out
The SEC and Disney (the company televising the playoffs) are in
No one should be shocked
Roll

I'd be floored if Harrison plays. Have to wonder if TreVeyon sits as well.Ice wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 2:46 pmWe won't be in a very good mood about it. The trolling, that is. Sadly, the reaction I'm getting from most OSU fans at the moment is indifference.
Definitely a fun preview of coming attractions. I'm not even sure someone like Haden (they know what they have there) is in for much PT. Would guess the lions share will be trying out new toys.

Harrison will definitely not be playing. I'd venture to guess not Egbuka, either. Possibly Fleming. You should get to see some of the 5 stars at WR who haven't gotten their PT yet.Pabst wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 2:59 pmI'd be floored if Harrison plays. Have to wonder if TreVeyon sits as well.

Yup, all about $$, ratings and making sure an SEC team got in.
FSU was screwed over.
Somewhere Mental Apparition is breaking shit over it.

Mizzou has already faced several elite offenses this year. Purely on paper, LSU, Georgia, K-State, and Tennessee have all performed better than OSU this season.
The flip side is the matchup I'm most looking forward to - Mizzou's O vs the OSU D
Probably going to be a few players sitting out the Whocares.com Bowl on D, too.

Mizzou will be playing against a bunch of freshmen. McCord gone, Fleming gone, Harrison won't play, Henderson won't play, Ebuka probably won't play.
In their current state, I hate everything about this organization.

All you needed to see was the audible gasp when Michigan learned it was playing Alabama instead of FSU. Committee got it right.
They definitely did. Getting "the deserving team in" got us Cincinnati in the playoff and a lousy semifinal game. On the other hand, "didn't even play in their conference championship" tOSU in last year got us the best semifinal game yet.
FSU has been unwatchable on offense since Travis went out. TTUN was definitely hoping they'd get a cupcake semifinal against them. Instead, they get probably the eventual National Champions as a 4th seed. Gasp, indeed.
At this point, I just want to see entertaining games.

I look forward to hearing that as I parade around Cleveland in my Mizzou gear next time I'm there (April). Last time I wore a Mizzou hat around Ohio I kept getting accused of being a Michigan fan. I'm still salty.Charles Demarr wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 7:07 pm

Hell, if they can keep this momentum going next year I may consider replacing my Aldon Smith jersey.
I must be getting old. I probably wouldn't bother with the parading. Funny folks thought it was a scUM hat, though. Tunnel vision just a little bit

I've spent many a Thanksgiving weekend as the spare prick at the wedding for The Game watch parties. This is my payback.
Also, I can't really blame people for thinking it was a Michigan hat:
1. Black block M as opposed to navy blue. Easy mixup
2. Who the fuck wears a mizzou hat around Cleveland?

Suppose that's understandable, but I mean, it's The Game, after all. Was even a rather entertaining one this year, objectively speaking.

I expect a lot of ACC player will leave to the SEC or Big10 now.

What a beatdown. Committee vindicated.
