I'm thinking that they're thinking that once they've got QB fixed, having a nice 1-2 punch at WR might be a good thing? They've got a pretty good looking core group for a Daboll offense going other than that, and maybe they want to hold on to it.

If they're getting out from under Jones, the slate is pretty clean in terms of bad contracts for NYG. If they play things right, it's them and The Indigenous Peoples of the Northern Potomac Region at the top of that division for a little while roster-wise.
