Steelers vs Commanders predictions?

Post by TimmayLake » Tue Nov 05, 2024 6:31 pm

The Commanders are red hot and actively making moves before the trade deadline to improve their team. Tomlin teams are notoriously bad after a bye week and the game is AT DC.

I think the Steelers lose this game, perhaps by 2 scores. What say you?

Tomlin is 24-6 all time vs rookie QB’s, and 13-4 after a bye, I like their chances.

They haven't lost post-bye week since 2016. But they're "notoriously bad" or something.

For context, Belichick was 15-6 in the Brady era, John Harbaugh is 13-3.

Reid has the best post-bye record in NFL history at 22-4, but most of that came in Philly where he was 13-1.

The 'Skins laid their foundation for the future with what I poasted was their best draft in the history of a once proud franchise.

Jayden Daniels= fantastic rookie QB. Soooo fun to watch play football. Seems like a quality human to boot.

Jer’Zhan Newton- DT has been unblockable since recovering from foot injury

Mike Sainristil- Tremendous FOOTBALL player harkening 'Skins fans back to the glory days of Darrell Green

Ben Sinnott- TE out of KST being slow rolled by Kliffy but kid's a BALLER

Brandon Coleman and Luke McCaffrey also good value picks

Rookie GM Adam Peters just killing it in DC.

No clue WTF the Bears were thinking passing on Kingsbury who openly campaigned to continue coaching Caleb Williams who NO ONE would now want over Jayden Daniels

Big game

Against a good team

Steelers maintain a share of AFC North first place if they win

On the road

Low Watt will be a total non factor late

Can the Steelers overcome the Low Watt disappearing act ??

Hard for me to see the Steelers winning unless Russ and WRs play well above par late

If I’m the Commanders I take away Pickens in the 4th and take my chances

Probably their first true test of the year. Will be a good game to see how the Steelers measure up with some big boys of the NFL

Agree, a win and I'll actually believe this team is capable of more than NHALS. A loss and it's back to NHALS.

I think this game will tell us more about the Commanders than it will about the Steelers. And I like the Steelers in this spot.

The Commanders have played a pretty easy schedule, filled with bad defenses and very few elite pass rushers. They'll see a HOF and another pro bowl caliber edge this weekend.

They got pushed around by the Bears for 3.5 quarters in a game they obviously should have lost.

Jayden Daniels is surprising defenses with his quickness, which won't surprise a team that locks down Jackson twice a year

Tomlin great after a bye. He's an all-timer as a road underdog.

Bottom line: The Steelers deploy their Jackson defense, hit a couple deep shots against a shoddy secondary, run out the game with Najee.

Steelers 27 - Commanders 21 (with a late TD to make it this close)

I agree with the above; we bring the Skins and Daniels back to reality on Sunday.

I think Mike Williams will be a part of the gameplan. Maybe Art can use him immediately rather than try to figure things out. Russ can throw it, another weapon to offset Pickens.

Liking their chances.

Steelers win, 23-17. And wish I could purge NHALS from this esteemed websites lexicon. And obv, would trade a loss to commanders for win the following week vs. ravens....7-3 with at least a game lead and win over the ravens would put Steelers in a very good position.

Only way to purge it from the lexicon is to win games like this, and win in January. Not for nothing, but it's in the national media narrative on Tomlin now, too, and this site still occasionally references Dong Sacks. Getting purged from this lexicon is harder than getting purged from Google.

Apparently Daniels pretty much throws to the right side of the field. That should be an easy adjustment for the defense putting best players on that side and trending the free safety in that direction.

Contain him running straight ahead:

Great write up. I feel the sameway. Bears D locked them down for most of the game. Steelers D is better. Jayden has not seen a D like this with TJ, Highsmith, Herbig and bearing down on him. We are getting some dudes back in the secondary (which may be the best in NFL now). I think the Steelers win 31 - 16. This game will not be close

NFL is big business. NHALS at this point and time is good for business with most of the media banging the drum and half the fan base dancing to the beat.

If the Steelers get a playoff win, half the fan base will celebrate like we won the SB and most of the media will talk about Tomlin like he masterminded a Lombardi.

As for me... I don't care that much about a playoff win unless it's on the road to getting Lombardi #7 at some point during Tomlin's watch.

Seats in the 50 about 8 rows up the Steeler sidelines were going for $6-700 all in. Worth it?

Seems like a good deal considering the game, the geography, and the seats and teams playing.

I can almost guarantee it came down to money. The McCaskeys are tighter than Mike Brown.
