Question: What does our QB coach do?

Post by CASTEELER » Mon Oct 13, 2014 4:51 am

Randy Fitchner is the QB coach but you never hear anything about what he does.
I never see him talking to Ben on sideline but assume is not on field but up in booth.
With Ben being so off target lately isn't QB coach supposed to work with him? Trying to understand his role between Ben and Haley.
I'm not ripping Fitchner but just don't see what he does to help Ben. He sure is not having luck with Landry Jones.
Hopefully someone can explain what he does.

Ben off target?

You mean those multiple passes to Markus Wheaton that clanked off his hands? Or the one to Lance Moore? Or the one where Wheaton ran the wrong route?

When the game was in doubt, the browns OC attacked upfield putting the ball in Hoyer's hands giving him the best chance to succeed.

When the game was in doubt, Haley/Tomlin did not attack upfield failing to put the ball in Ben's hands failing to give him the best chance to succeed.

The problem today with our offense was not Ben Roethlisberger.
