A A Ron season at risk in Jones vs Garrett matchup
A A Ron season at risk in Jones vs Garrett matchup
Not only should this matchup scare the hell out of all Steelers fans as we face the Clowns….
But
Absent some serious help, Broderick could easily assist in putting A A Ron on IR for the season with a poor game.
That being said….you’re HC/OC….what are you doing to help neutralize Garrett?
Outlier side by side w Jones most of the game? RB chip?
Never pass the ball?
I don’t know the answer but they better have a good plan.

They're going to have Washington and Anderson in all game to assist the tackles. 7 man OLine will be the Steelers' norm for awhile.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 7:41 pmNot only should this matchup scare the hell out of all Steelers fans as we face the Clowns….

You really think Garrett wants to hurt Rodgers and risk getting his ass kicked by Mason Rudolph again? Not a chance.

Good point
I’m hoping we get to see what Howard has ASAP.
Great game to take out Rogers and get that ball rolling.
Hell, maybe Garrett can take out both Rogers and Bibberty in the same game.
One can dream.

Meanwhile, our highly paid $50,000,000 tight end will ride pine because of this new defensive Rubic’s Cube that apparently is called a 4-3 defense.W&M_Steeler wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 7:53 pmThey're going to have Washington and Anderson in all game to assist the tackles. 7 man OLine will be the Steelers' norm for awhile.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 7:41 pmNot only should this matchup scare the hell out of all Steelers fans as we face the Clowns….

I wonder what SF does with Kittle when they face a 4-3. I bet he sits too while Shanahan scratches his fucking head wondering how to solve this mysterious new alignment.

I thought the Muth extension was stupid at the time, but it looks way worse now. He's a mediocre at best receiver and a shitty blocker- no idea why the Steelers paid him so much.955876 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 8:58 pmMeanwhile, our highly paid $50,000,000 tight end will ride pine because of this new defensive Rubic’s Cube that apparently is called a 4-3 defense.W&M_Steeler wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 7:53 pmThey're going to have Washington and Anderson in all game to assist the tackles. 7 man OLine will be the Steelers' norm for awhile.Jizz Mop wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 7:41 pmNot only should this matchup scare the hell out of all Steelers fans as we face the Clowns….

Ball's going to be out before Garrett can get there on 90% of pass plays. If he wants to beat up Rodgers, he's likely going to have to take RTP penalties to do it. The good news for him is, PFF will probably add them to his awesome, game-breaking, totally shows up on the field and the stat sheet all the time win rate.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
Is Howard off injured list now?
I don't follow that stuff and so genuinely don't know.

Not sure Howard is even germane this season. ARod will likely be banged up and MR will enter the picture. I don't see a Tomlin coached team letting a rookie play much. They did it with KP when he replaced Mitch, but Trubinski was horrific. I don't think Mason is that bad
I was pretty damn happy with Broderick vs the Vikings and they have some pass rushers.
Sure, none of them are Myles Garrett level but I think Jones is going to fight his ass off in this game and we'll let the chips fall where they may.
He'll also have plenty of help because the Steelers have had success in the past running right at Garrett and Smith and Rodgers aren't stupid.
Running the ball (which the Steelers did superbly vs Minny...and Warren should be back for this contest) will be the focus against Cleveland and really all future opponents.
Sure, the Steelers have to worry about Garrett, but Cleveland has plenty to worry about in this game too.

a) Run the ball
b) Defend the run
If they can't do "a", ARod will be in for a beating regardless of opponent.

Maybe they could trade Muth or Highsmith for a LG or hybrid G/T.

Mason is t that bad. He’s also not that good aside from being a solid contributor to NHALS.Deebo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 09, 2025 3:32 pmNot sure Howard is even germane this season. I agree Howard doesn’t play. This the wishful thinking in terms of injury.
Rogers is nothing more than a binky and security blanket for our lazy HC.
Given this cunt is never getting fired, he’s going to need to develop a QB. I’d like to see him forced to deal with a rookie vs the extreme vet in Rogers.

I don’t think there’s any way we see Howard on the field unless both Rogers and Rudolph are injured, or the season is done because they’ve lost 9 games and just want to see what they have
Add to it their ability to run the ball seemingly required seven offensive linemanDeebo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 09, 2025 4:20 pmOutside of 1 game (the Vikes), Steelers have yet to prove they can:K_C_ wrote: ↑Thu Oct 09, 2025 3:42 pmI was pretty damn happy with Broderick vs the Vikings and they have some pass rushers.

If it takes handicap in your scheme and playcalling by implementing a seven lineman scheme, what does that say for the personnel or playcalling?
The Vikings defense under Brian Flores has been incredible since he arrived on the scene.Deebo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 09, 2025 4:20 pmOutside of 1 game (the Vikes), Steelers have yet to prove they can:K_C_ wrote: ↑Thu Oct 09, 2025 3:42 pmI was pretty damn happy with Broderick vs the Vikings and they have some pass rushers.

I haven't looked, but I'll bet they've been a higher ranked unit than the Browns have been, again since Flores arrived.
The Vikings defense is no fucking joke.
The Steelers, for the most part, shoved the ball up the Vikings ass, offensively. Broderick looked good overall. Fautanu held up.
...and they shoved the ball up the Vikings ass with Warren in street clothes.
My main concern (and I'll admit this is a weird concern) is that the Steelers for quite awhile now, seem to play much more tentatively and frankly, worse at home, than they do on the road.
That is the only thing that worries me for this Sunday. I'm not sure if they press and their sphincters tighten (especially Tomlin's sphincter) but I honestly prefer to watch the Steelers play on the road these days.
They just seem to perform better.
