Possible Motive - FANS AND ASSHATS OF STEELERFURY WON
That person who reported that a long time" coach was considering moving on says it was Tomlin that they were talking about, not Harbaugh.
They claim that Tomlin thought about stepping down prior to the season because he didn't feel respected or appreciated by a segment of the city's fanbase. Was offended that some wanted him fired.

So yea, the asshats of Steelerfury did our part in ridding the team of this mediocre monstrosity of a coach.

And just how pathetic is this story if true? Guy had a job for life probably with Art II. No real heat or pressure throughout his 20 years, but just the thought that some segment of the fanbase thought he should be fired after 19 years may have driven his delusional ass off.
It’s so pathetic it HAS to be true.
If true, Tomlin is a bridge burner, eh?
And now we see that with Dino, the apple didn't fall far from the tree.
Let's see if Dino spills some more tea on TikTok...

come on -- if thats true ... that is about as thin-skinned and sophomoric as you can get - and honestly -- delusional
Boy, I bet he was livid and really beside himself when the Fire Tomlin chants reined down. Hell, I'm surprised that someone didn't have to talk him off the ledge!
I don't think there's any coach who has been around anywhere for 19 years who doesn't have their haters. Especially when they haven't won shit in 17 years, only won a playoff game in 4 seasons total, and matched Marvin Lewis for futility over the last decade. We could go on, but the point...you gets it.
Like, it's perfectly natural over that length of time that some people would want him gone. He wasn't Belichick winning ring after ring and once he split with Brady mostly because of his own ego that ended quickly, too. Tomlin has no idea how good he had it. Really doesn't.
He's just painfully fucking delusional. I hope he goes to his next stop and attempts to rebuild a dumpster fire. Or he just has full and open GM power and we get see exactly what a clown he really is.

This may be the very best part of this saga. And look I know in my heart of hearts that if AR2 hires the next coach, it’ll be some complete asshat like Marcus Freeman, so a tiny part of me can’t rejoice until the fire is made.CKSteeler wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 9:14 pmThat person who reported that a long time" coach was considering moving on says it was Tomlin that they were talking about, not Harbaugh.

“We are the stupidest fucking franchise ever.” — Smithessmokin
Marcus Freeman is just another Coach T.
It's hilarious that the chest beating and kiss blowing was absolutely directed at the fanbase. This fucking asshole.
Biscotti even noticed it. What a ridiculous cunt Coach T is. Mr Thin-Skinned with his stupid sayings all over the place.
Will that stupid goddamned t-shirt store of his wife's shut down now.

"I'm institutionalized, man," he joked. "I gotta have it. I just love the challenges week in and week out that this job provides: the growth in it, the collective growth, the individual growth."
Dino was speaking for his Dad.

That speaks volumes about Tomlin and his loser approach.
You didn't feel appreciated by the fans? It's not the job of the fans to GIVE you respect and appreciation, it's your job to EARN it, and continue to earn it.
If I heard a leader tell me that, my instant reaction would be "let me rectify that for you".

Yeah, those Dino posts were OK’d by his dad. No way did Tomlin not know his racist, asshole son was posting that crap. If it bothered him or he disagreed, he would have had it pulled down immediately. he didnt because mediocre Mike agreed with the sentiment.
The only reason no one talked about those posts was because no one knows who DIno is or gives a shit what he says or thinks and his posts never got traction. Maybe they will now.
Mike Tomlin and NHALS - The embodiment of the soft bigotry of lowered expectations.
Didn't feel respected or appreciated by the fans?!? Yeah, count me as someone who hated Tomlin as a HC but now realizes he's a legit entitled asshole.
Basically the Kenny Picket of HCs....soft, lazy and a quitter.

I think the Dino stuff failed to gain traction because of who Tomlin is and how the media bowed down to him from the local guys to the national ones. It would have been a tricky subject to wade into for a mostly white set of reporters given the shit Dino has said.CoolShades wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 12:52 am

I mean some people may not want to admit that because of their politics, but it's reality as how I see it.

sounds like it can be legit
When he was given that Super Bowl win that created a monster, and that monster was an anvil tied around the neck of this team.
What an entitled cunt.
I hope either he or is shitbag entitled cunt son are reading this stuff.

They knew. He’s got something lined up. Guaranteed
So, while he's saying he won't be coaching next year, what if he jumps to join the Talking Heads (on TV) - won't he continue being paid by the Steelers while collecting more million$ from the network?
No. We hold his "rights" but we do not have to pay him since he "resigned".6Trophies wrote: ↑Thu Jan 15, 2026 2:34 pmI understand Mediocre Mike is on the Steelers payroll for 2 more years correct?DumlinBumlinStumlin wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 9:29 pmThat’s the other thread I bumped jeemie

It’s clear to me the buzz caught up with Tomlin and his family - he realized he was being forced out by Steelers Nation (not the owner).
Also, I don’t know why I have such a visceral reaction to him blowing kisses into the camera after winning certain games, but I do. It’s bush league and just looks so stupid. Also, it seems very antagonistic almost - like his way of saying “yeah I’ve heard the boos and the chatter about my lack of achievements and this is for yall - kiss my hairy beanbag.”
Who else does something like that, let alone at the pro level? The dude just got so completely absorbed by his own hype. It was so time for this to end and thank god it did.

Jeesh
If that's true, Tomlin is a dbag of epic proportions.
He, his wife, and ass clown son can gtfo
I did read something regarding his/their desire to move away. Not sure where I read that.

You did nothing. A rookie kicker ensured you got to coach 1 more game and tie Noll's record. Fuck the hell off
