This is a great point. I've evolved as a fan over the years (not better or worse). I used to get so fucking pissed when the Steelers lost. It would ruin weekends and sometimes entire weeks. I was a moody fck. Now, all I ask is for is a team that is worth rooting for; a good group of guys that try hard, make some plays and win on occasion and are worthy of rooting for. I get that feeling with this team. I love this defense. They're fun to watch, are underdogs, make a few splash play and are just entertaining. The last few seasons the defense was like my ex-wife, just a lump on the couch and in bed. Zero wow moments. I'm enjoying this season.

Great fucking post, MeanJoe! My menopause is over. I'm fucking riding! We've got the best fucking running back and the best fucking wide receiver in the NFL. When Ben comes back we'll have the best fucking QB. I'm riding with Ron Mexico in the meantime.

Fuck yeah! I'm not afraid of Steelers West. Everyone seems to have them as NFC Conference Champs. I don't see them as that good. Yes, they are a good squad. But I don't think they are elite, not close to it. And we're at home.

I really do believe that McLendon is playing his last season in Pittsburgh. I don't think he is a guy that Butler likes at NT.

Also, even with Casey Hampton at NT he was playing less and less as his career was winding down. Teams are throwing more and more, running less and the days of having a traditional NT who stuffs the run is probably not preferable anymore.

I really like McCullers as the NT moving forward because he can command double teams and provide a push from the interior in collapsing the pocket while pass rushing. That can make things easier for Tuitt and Hayward. I have seen McCullers do that, just push the center and even when doubled with a guard, push both backwards as if they were on roller-skates. McLendon does not really offer much in that regard.
