Pens vs Avs

Post by Legacy User » Thu Nov 19, 2015 7:16 pm

As bad as the Avs have been so far this year, they've still outscored us by 10 goals in the same amount of games

In the morning skate, according to Mackey, Scuderi was paired with Letang

So Scuderi goes from somewhat of a healthy scratch to top pairing, good job coach

Scuderi sucks the enjoyment out of watching a hockey game, Letang is going to have to play well tonight, something he hasnt done much of this year

The only thing good about this, is that Clendening will actually have a chance to show what he can do, and if the bottom 2 pairs play well, then when Maata comes back, Scuds can go straight to the press box

The only thing Scuderi should be paired with is the freaking waiver wire.

The Maatta injury is horrible on a lot of levels, but one of them is that we finally had Maatta and Letang paired together, which seemed to elevate both their play...only to return to this crap.

This team has terrible luck w/ injuries- just like the Steelers. Must be something in the Pittsburgh water

And when players get hurt, it's never guys that we can do without.

Scuderi and Kunitz could play til they're 55 years old and not sustain a single significant injury provided they stayed on our roster.

Meanwhile, Maatta and Bennett can't stay on the ice to save their lives.

And of course Kunitz scores after I post that.

Pens drop 3 on the Av's in a few breaths. What a sequence by the Birdies-glad to see.

PP scores again. Good sign, but Colorado is pretty terrible, so there's that.

Good to see Perron is finally coming around. He's too good a player to look the way he's looked.

What's up with Steel City Scores? Been offline for a while now. I wonder what's up.

How's Sid look?

Sid looked ok, had a nice goal off a nice pass from Dupuis on what ended up being the game winner.

Speaking of Dupuis, that pass was the only positive for him tonight, I cant believe he's still on the top line

Kunitz actually had a good game, lets hope he can keep it up

Clendening is looking like a good fit, he didnt have a great game, but no glaring mistakes and he can skate better than advertised

Dumo is playing great, and Letang skated and played well, but his shot is so bad, he cant hit the net to save his life

Perron is back, I dont know what was wrong with him, but he's got it figured out

Still some bad coaching decisions, Scuderi out on the 4 on 3 pk and Kunitz out on the 4 on 4, thats awful, but a win is a win

Outside their 1st line and Iggy, they've got nothing going for them. Berra had been playing well for them, he didn't have a great game (thankfully)

One thing that was noticeable last night, was that Letang pretty much refused to pass the puck to Scuderi, he always opted to skate the puck out, which for Letang showed some brains. He doesnt always make the smartest move, but in this case he did the right thing.

Would you pass the puck to Scuderi?

Funny thing though, Scuderi actually has the highest +/- on the team right now. I haven't bothered looking at advanced stats yet this year though.
