I am afraid Marcia would have ripped us a new one and put a third loss on us in that game. Would have been nice to give it a try though. I think they are going to smoke Denver and then Carolina/NE will be a great game but Bellicheck > Newton I'm afraid

Denver's defense held them in check last time, and New England typically has not fared well in Denver.

What's interesting is there's a potential Nor'Easter brewing on the weekend that might be in Boston on Sunday.

Imagine THAT.

Oh man. Didn't even think about that. That would have been nuts.

This short handed Steelers team probably loses to the pats in NE. But THAT would have been a learning experience for a young team. Losing to this Denver albeit a bitter loss for the players that hopefully makes the young guys hungrier is not the same type of learning experience, hell I highly doubt our defense ever faces a QB with a weaker arm than what peyton brought to the table on sunday afternoon. Pitt vs NE that would definitely have been a game I would have liked to see play out especially if we had AB and Deangelo back.

As I've already stated in the SBI piece, the only way I can at all deal with giving the fuckin' game away in Denver is telling myself that a loss awaited us in Foxboro. Had that happened, I would have been subject to the local douchbaggery again. Hell...I'm still not over the '01 and '04 AFCCG losses...didn't need to have it happen again...now.

I know this. We would not have been the beneficiary of a weak-armed QB and dropped passes. The Patriots would have spread out the Steelers D, and Brady would have been throwing darts. And...let's remember the Chinese Fire Drill that was the Steelers defense on Week 1. Yes, the defense has solidified since then, but...biggest play of Sunday's game found Brandon Boykin looking at Will Allen at the snap instead of at the guy he was covering. And...weather? Big shit. Brady's a bad weather QB, probably more snow/blizzard experience than Ben.

Offensively though....we would have moved the ball. Not convinced that either AB or DeAngelo play. In fact, I'm thinking that neither would have been in uniform. Guys sometimes miss more than a week with a concussion and I don't think they get much worse than the one suffered by AB.

And then, there's the coaching. I've said it before and I believe it. I can't see Mike Tomlin beating Bill Belichick, in Foxboro, in a game of meaning.

I think the Pats win. Wish the FUCK we had a chance to see it....the excitement, the buzz of the week. I wish we were having it.

Well for one fucking thing, I would have been there personally with brother-in-law and his wife who have season tickets. They had already invited my wife and me to come so that fucking sucks. Taking the sting out of it is knowing that we're going to get dumped on with snow this weekend as Jeemie says.

You never know what might happen, however, chances are NE wins the game with a depleted Steelers team. Team was playing with house money as Swiss says. Maybe a full compliment of Steelers gets it done. As for the local douchebaggery, it's already out in full force against Denver singing the following to the tune of the Nationwide jingle "Brady's gonna kick my butt!" God, I hope Denver wins!

I do, too, '58....but then I hope that Manning gets his ASS kicked in the Super Bowl by the NFC entrant.

I have a tough time seeing Denver winning this game on Sunday though.

'58...couple other things. I was checking out StubHub....was a single seat high up in the last sideline section for 3 bills...was thinking about making a solo jaunt to Foxboro. And speaking of the local douchbaggery. Right now, I'm staring at those two morning dicks from WEEI, Toucher & Rich, who are simulcast on TV. How the FUCK do those two dipshits have a sports show. Neither one of them know a goddamn thing....half the time they're talking about extraneous bullshit.

The Peyton-led Broncos won't score more than 10 points unless their defense steps up.

I give them a 10% shot. I think we'd have had a coin flip's chance with a healthy AB and a healthier Ben.

Pats defense allowed 20 points to a Kansas City offense that should have scored more, and had no one of consequence to catch the football (Maclin was hurt, Kelce was botteld up).

As bad as Peyton Manning is right now, he has Thomas, Sanders, Fowler, Owen Daniels as receivers, and CJ Anderson at RB.

Think of how many passes they dropped against us- you think that happens again?

Broncos have plenty of offensive firepower even with noodle-armed Peyton, and the killer defense that can stop New England. Their pass rushers go four fucking deep, for crying out loud, and they can man up and erase Gronk and Edelman.

Denver doesn't suck. Don't let the bad game they played against us fool you.

I have a hard time seeing Denver winning this weekend after how pedestrian they looked Sunday, but the games are a separate entity I suppose.

I think we had a better shot with AB returning

A better shot, yes of course. But We'd probably end up kicking 4 FG's again just like we did vs Cincy.

I think that's absolutely true, Donnie. Yeah, the Pittsburgh Steelers with the offensive firepower, scored 30 points in six consecutive games. Well...that streak started against Oakland and Cleveland, ended with a shitty Colts team, and then two good defenses, Cinci & Denver, minus a couple of guys each in their secondaries. Post-season, facing these same two teams with all their guys back, Steelers score a single touchdown in each of the games.

Woulda been the same old story, I'm afraid....Patriots would've been putting up 7s while Steelers were getting 3s....or zeroes, as was the case on Sunday at Mile High.

I think we could have won a shootout actually. NE defense isn't as good as Cincy or Denver and we could/should have had more points against each.

Sad reality is that Tomlin out thinks himself far too often. His "gut" is often wrong but never in doubt. Not a good combo.
The Steelers are among the NFL’s worst teams in total offense (30th) and total defense (28th). Highest paid defense in the league by far. We are lucky to have Mike Tomlin.

I'm with you on that one Swiss. I want Carolina to go all the way, or Uncle Brucie to kick somebody's ass again. The Patsies have never done well in Denver, and I'm hanging my hat on that. Also, Peyton Manning has never lost a playoff game to the Patriots at home, so there's that, too.

I listened to Toucher (great name) and Rich for all of two days and couldn't stand it anymore. Fucking frat boys who got a radio gig. Toucher is also a douchebag St. Louis Cardinals fan which doesn't help his cause out any with me either. I'd rather listen to a Longfellow reading in the Back Bay than those two simpletons.

I would agree with you on the shootout but only if AB is in the lineup.

NFL would have uncovered some shit pregame, told us about it. We start the first quarter, they continue shit.

Refs call the game, we win :)

NE Can Eat 1000000 fat ones

fans riot, storm the field, Steelers have to be ushered out by National Guard after midnight

Kraft's box on the club level is infiltrated by rioters and he's mortally wounded by his own pauper fans

Belicheat and Brady are not found after the mayhem clears but tatters of their clothes.......

Roger Declares whole area to be bulldozed and franchise contracted after 31 team owner emergency session vote.

THE END

 8-) :P

If Williams and Brown are healthy, we would have smashed New England.

Even though Ben looked good last week, I would still worry about his shoulder. That said, I believe it would be a close game going right down to the wire. The weather conditions would limit both teams offensively.

I would have had a real dilemma.

Those of you who remember, after reading Bryan O'Leary's book in the offseason, I boycotted the Steelers season opener and vowed to never watch a "football game" that the Cheatriots are involved in until that regime is deposed.

I doubt I would have been able to stay true to my pledge had we won last week to be totally honest. But I'm more convinced than ever that they are cheating more than ever in ways that we probably don't even know about. Not that other teams don't cheat (if you ain't cheating you ain't trying). But nowhere near to the extent that Kraft and company do.

I hope that "the script" has Peyton winning this game. I wouldn't be surprised if it does. But I'll only know about it from whatever I see on Twitter because I won't be watching. Sadly.

Besides, in my book, football season is over. How many days until pitchers and catchers?

Splat, this system with Brady throwing in 2 secs is only as good as a 3 second online.

Lebetard got asked about Flutie again........he needs to drum up something other than sheer robotic greatness.......it's got to be the person in his ear on channel EA

Yup... I'm hoping that it'll be a little harder for them to cheat in Denver but knowing Ernie....they'll find a way.
