Pretty promising article. 5 for 60 against Jalen Ramsey isn't too shabby.

Canaan isn't a normal name though so that could hurt him. :D

I like the guys who were the undisputed #1, go-to guy on the college teams... as a UDFA, it really tests the kid's mettle to prove himself all over again. He was a really good college player and I don't really understand why he went undrafted, compared to some of the WRs who did go. I know part of it was that he came out in such a deep defensive draft-- pushed offensive players down-- but he seems like a guy with a legit shot to play in the league.

Leads me to another thoought- the difference between the mid round picks on the roster and everybody else below them on the pecking order is wafer thin. I'll bet the biggest factors in their success are: A. mental toughness B. opportunity (how the coaches see them). One thing for which you have to credit MT and staff: they really treat every guy like a legit human being, with the possibility of earning an opportunity.

Thanks for posting that article. This is another one of those guys it will be easy to pull for. After losing a knucklehead for the season, it would be nice to see an UFA come in and have a positive impact at the position.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Sickle cell prevents presence at away games at Denver.

This, coupled with an odd first name and Unknown HIG factor makes him a long shot.

Well, that would explain his draft stock, at least somewhat.

Just don't call his first name weird or you might get some fire and brimstone in yo ass.

The 4.7 time wouldn't exactly push a wr up the boards either.

Too often we are all tied to the numbers. Players are players. Diamonds in the rough where numbers are deceiving. They play beyond the numbers. That being said, more players than not are not diamonds in the rough so the numbers are more consistently right. Late round picks and UDFAs are all about gambles where the evaluators are gambling they see something beyond the numbers and tangibles. It's a shitshow open to easy criticism and, occasionally, great accolades. This is where your lower tier scouts make their name and move up. Let's hope our scouts hit another AB, Parker or similar this year.

he didn't run this postseason due to hamstring but ran last year 4.59. I don't know where 4.7 comes from

Article vaguely States scouts estimated him at 4.6/4.7. If scouts estimated him at 4.4/4.5, he's probably off the board way way sooner.

Just commenting on that part. I never heard of the kid until yesterday.

There were other guys with production, size who ran 4.4-4.5 and didn't get drafted, either. Keyarris Garrett comes to mind.

Put me down as a guy who doesn't care if it's 4.5 or 4.7

Still a long shot for God's sake

First named Pronounced: Cane-nin Last name: Sev-rin
Notice the secondary Canaan makes this exceptionally fantastic catch against? Burns is on the other side of the field though.
