Porter Redux. AB: "They tried to kill me in Cincy."
Hell of a response from AB, IMO.
Skip to the 1:58 mark if short on time.

In retrospect, I guess we shouldn't have been surprised he didn't clear, and it was as bad as he said.
It was a wicked hit.
Hell- in the '75 AFCCG, Swann got a similar hit (probably harder) and still wasn't right even two weeks later on Super Bowl Sunday (although you never would know it based on how he played!) IIRC, he said he was still dizzy and nauseous on game day.

AB might have 300 all purpose yards in the first game against Cincy next year. He sounds genuinely aggrieved.

He was on First Take this morning. They brought up the Cinci game and asked him if he were able to play would the Steelers be in the SB this week and he said no doubt. He also seems to be still pissed at Burfict when they brought up the hit his smile instantly left his face and that cat had the most angry of looks and he said yeah it was done on purpose.

It's going to be a straight out brawl. Steelers were smart enough to mostly avoid the nonsense as it was a playoff game. This being a reg season contest...it could get real ugly.
I wonder if the NFL will put the first Cincy game on in Week 1 prime time. The ratings would be huge, but they risk the chance of bad PR if it turns into mayhem. The question is, does the NFL hold by the mantra that no publicity is bad publicity. We will see.

Wish we had an in his prime Hines Ward to knock the shit out of Burfict and Pacman.
Burfict is more likely to take out another Steeler than we are of taking him out. You want to get even, AJ, Ginger, Hill or Bernard again, I'm looking their way. League doesn't want to handle it, so we should.

Listen folks, this sounds all big and bad, but we need to make sure the league steps in and stops this madness.
We don't need to incite a low hit on Ben, or yet another season-ender toward Bell. We need to get out of those two street fights with our superstars intact.

Burflict will likely be suspended in week 1, right? How can we break his knees if he’s not in the house?

He already has been suspended for 3 games, and since Brown ended up missing a playoff game, his appeal will go nowhere.
Just hoping we are scheduled to play 1 of our 2 Cinci games while that dirty thug is asleep.

Yeah. Maybe we bury them in the first meeting. Have the division wrapped up by the second meeting. Rest EVERYBODY.
I'll tell you this, the very fact that the Bengals will return those two fucking pieces of shit - Burfict and Jones - and their complete fucking moron head coach Marvin Jones after that shitstorm at Paul Brown Stadium speaks volumes on what an absolute fucking abortion that organization is and the complete waste of sperm that is Mike Brown.

Sanity usually prevails, most defenders draw the line. If others played like psychopath Burfict, attempting to permanently injure incapacitate another human being there would be public outcry to ban this sport. Escalating the violence is the worst result, it this league has any brains they suspend Burfict for both Steeler games and have the officials fine and flag him all season at the slightest. He could have broken a bone in AB's neck. Twice in 2015 we saw Ben carted off both times appeared his and Steelers seasons were done. This thug criminal element with their insipid and weak coach in Cincinnati have to be regulated to be stopped. Escalation is not the answer. We have to get to game 17 with Ben AB Bell Pouncy and everyone relatively healthy and straight.

Nah. Hes suspended the first 3. League is going to have the SB winner against its main rival in that game. I guess it will be the Cards at Carolina. Or if the Broncos win it will be a SB rematch. I imagine that first Bengals game will take place in week 4, with two weeks worth of build up

I could not agree more. BTW fixed it for ya

I'm not saying the season opener on Thursday. I'm talking about Sunday night or Monday night football week 1.
I did forget about Burfict being suspended.
As much as the fantasy of his knees getting broken by a Steeler in the first meeting sounds great, I'd rather play them when he is suspended. Despite what a piece of shit he is, they are a better defense with him on the field (when he isn't costing them games with a penalty).
I'd much rather embarrass them on the scoreboard than worry about taking someone out.

I think Veritas is right....Week #4, when Burfict is back from suspension....Sunday Night, at Heinz.
That would be very ballsy by the NFL. Especially when they openly try to act like they want to lose the blood sport image of football. I'm not doubting it though.

I think they'll put the first meeting in Paul Brown, early season, while the mooks are still worked up over what went on last month.

Take out another Steeler? That fucker has done enough!

Ok I was with you until I saw Pouncy. Replaced by two street free agents, 2 out of 3 years, and didn't miss a beat.

agree with the second sentence but not necessarily the first. It's unlikely that burfict will play nice if we play nice. He will probably play like he has in the past. I see only a few options for us: knock him out of the game as early as possible, or keep our valuable offense players on the bench, or simply don't play at all.
It would be entertaining, to say the least, if Rooney were to announce that in the interest of player safety, the Steelers won't play the Bengals until there are "significant personnel changes" (or something like that)

Not going to happen though....best Steelers can hope for if they'd rather not have Burfict on the field is that Bungs are on our shed during the first three weeks, during his suspension. Only other strategy would be to lure him into an altercation either pre-game or during resulting in an ejection of both players.

Not worried. Bengals tried to play physical and many of their guys on defense didnt finish the 2nd game. Then they played with emotion and get so caught up in it that they forgot there was a game on.The honest truth is they can't beat us straight up without any shenanigans by them. I welcome their next attempt.
I say a clinical ass whooping with a couple hard blocks to the whistle will give Bengals fans and player things to cry about. They seem to think that they have been on the other end of some bullying by us. Now they say that they are "standing up to us" in an attempt to show the world they have arrived. It makes for some good football TV, but should end the same way those other attempts did
