Three keys to victory.
1. Come out fast. Take away Tampa's time and space and force turnovers.
2. Crash the net. Do this early. Do this often. Don't ever stop doing it.
3. No soft goals. Don't squeeze the Charmin.

I like it Bling.
I'll add that a good way to combat the size and shot blocking capability of TBs defenders is to shoot the puck quick from all angles. Do not hesitate and let them adjust their bodies for a block; pucks that don't make it to their goalie aren't going to get past him.
Crosbys one timer was a good example. Hedman was attempting to block the shot or adjust himself if Crosby took the pass and tried to make a move; instead, Crosby fired the puck as soon as it touched his stick and both Hedman and their goalie had no chance.
Shoot shoot shoot. Enough with the pretty passing. You have a shooting lane before one of their giants gets in it, SHOOT.

That was one of the things I noticed in game one. The Pens were used to a lot more time and space to make plays and take shots. They held the puck a little too long and had a lot of their shots blocked and passes deflected.
They adjusted in game 2 and got their shots off more quickly. The Pens dominated long stretches of game 2 and I expect that to continue going forward. The series will not be easy but is certainly winnable
I think you ride Murray until he fails but I read somewhere else someone wrote "Murray was gone from special to merely good". He seems to have cooled off a little.

I think the 4th is Murray has to improve on the high heat. I just got done watching the game, man did we dodge some bullets on that high shot. They have to be working on that with him.
What the fuck do I know, but he seems weak on the glove side as well. I wonder if he's hitting a wall. Both goals the other night were savable. I hope it's a blow out and flower can get some ice time tonight. Just to keep Murray on an even keel. Or would that fuck up his mojo.Suwanee88 wrote:Bling Collector Ben wrote:Three keys to victory.

Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

I think it's a moot question, Cor-Ten.....ain't no blowouts happening.

Murray is one of the main reasons we're in the ECF, if he was hitting a wall we wouldnt have made it to OT the other night
Although we controlled play for most of the game the other night, Tampa is a dangerous team and can score anytime, I thought Murray held up well when we had defensive breakdowns
I thought Schultzie played well the other night and its good to see thats he's in for Maata who has become a liability with his Scuderi like speed
I think we have a good chance to take the series lead tonight if we play like we did in the 3rd period of the last game
LETS GO PENS!!!!
Murray went several long stretches between shots last game, and still kept his head in and responded when the rushes and pressure happened. Not an easy thing. Enjoy the game, boys. Tucking my superstitious tail between my legs till after.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

PP gets back on track tonight.
I wonder how many Pens fans will get tickets? I remember games down their over the years where the crowd had a Pittsburgh presence.
The tension is thick.

Don't get me wrong. I think he's playing great, but the level of competition is getting stronger, and he's never seen this much NHL ice time. Not to mention playoff intensity.Steelforce wrote:What the fuck do I know, but he seems weak on the glove side as well. I wonder if he's hitting a wall. Both goals the other night were savable.

The ice is tilted, just have to survive it until they find their pace.

That shift by the Bonino line was a beautiful display. All started by the sick pass from Crosby to Hornqvist right in front on the prior shift.

I don't know about the tilt, but it sure looks like shit. As expected with how hot it's been down there.

The fucking Russian doing his job in net for the Bolts again. Thankfully our kid is doing the same. Geno getting much more involved so we got that going for us.
