Jack Lambert's Hardest Hits

Post by JackLambert58 » Sun Jul 10, 2016 3:37 pm

I should have posted these on Jack Lambert's 64th birthday two days ago which coincidentally is the same date - July 8 - as the Steelers franchise birthday. Anyway, a tribute to my namesake and in my opinion the greatest linebacker in Steelers history:

I laugh out loud every time at the clip of Jack putting his finger in the face of that Cleveland Browns running back.

Was searching YouTube for Jack's post game interview for SB X. Can't find it, but that's the one where he said something like "no one intimidates the Pittsburgh Steelers. We do the intimidating!"

In the "Jack Lambert Tribute" video at 2:08 they appear to be playing the Brown's. The picture is kind of grainy so I can't tell. But the Brown wearing #53 hits Steeler #15 (Kruczek?) out of bounds. Lambert comes in to retaliate. If that is the Browns, #53 would have been Bill Cowher. Can anyone confirm that?

Thanks for posting the vids. There are some great memories there.

Would have been an amazing story, but that's from 1976 and is Cincinnati's #53. I think that's Bo Harris. In those days, the Browns and Bengals unis and helmets were pretty similar. Also, Cowher didn't arrive in Cleveland/the NFL until 1980, by which time Kruczek was in Washington.

Thanks B2B. It would have been quite the hat trick of circumstances.

Couldn't find a video, Jack (would have been pretty fucking awesome if I had), but found this article:

QB's should be made to wear dresses.
