Scunge I enjoy your posts. Couldn't agree more about the RB quality. I never thought much of the French kid but he even played well today. My hope is Dwill still has a role but is never counted on to be the lead back again. Bell and Bryant need to man the hell up and get their shit together so maybe, just maybe with some good luck and good health the Steelers can add another super bowl ring or two. I've had red zone channel going at full force today. Not one defense I saw today could come close to stopping the Steelers offense with its full complement of players.

There's a reason that we have such "RB depth".
Our OL is as good as it's been since the glory days. Enjoy it brothers!

That's a legit point right there. But I don't take anything for granted. Our OL ain't perfect and they need to keep getting better. But it's great to see after years of wandering in OL darkness.

they were overmatched today for most of the game

I just got chance to see the game and I didn't see them as over-matched at all. Villy was killing the Bungles in run game, Pouncey looked a damn site better than he did last week, Gilbert was excellent again. Decastro and Foster had some struggles with Geno Atkins hardly a shock, Yanda struggles with him as well. The only pass rusher who had more pressures than Atkins last season was Donald. I've seen games were Atkins destroyed the PS interior he was far from that today.
The line gave up one sack. Yes there was pressure but it was hardly in the over-matched department.

More that they were stalemated in the run game and were struggling with the interior rush. Villanueva did pretty well with a tough matchup and Gilbert was damn good... granted, from 1st watching only.

32 Carries for DeAngelo Williams who is 33 years old. Plus 4 catches for 36 touches, 132 yards from scrimmage. DWill took some contact and he will feel it, but he's a very tough dude. DWill has one more game as starter before Bell returns. They probably could mix Toussaint in a little more.
The Frenchman looks lighter and looks to have added some wiggle to go along with his power.
Then you have Richardson who is a proven vet (and a damn good one).
Unbelievable depth at this position.

And yet when Bell gets back, he'll get 85% of the touches....because that's how we roll, baby!

Shit field conditions...it happens.

It won't be 85%, not with Williams on the roster, but your point is valid.

Oh I think it'll be 85% for sure. Tomlin loves grinding his Rb's down

He does, but Williams is pretty close to being Bell's equal.
Not in the passing game, but for sure in the running game.
I have a feeling we're going to see both of them on the same field plenty.
If Bell wanted to be an outside receiver, he could be a top 10 type guy.
Bell will play more, but Williams will still see the field plenty.
Richardson and Toussaint had better find hobbies though. They're going to be done unless there is an injury.

I'll believe Williams will see the field a lot when Bell comes back when I see it.
Williams' touches in the five games between when Bell came back and when he got injured again last year: 1, 2, 5, 1, 5.

While I think Tomlin will give D-Will a much deserved break in game four. I have a feeling the teams trust in D-Will has grown to new levels (if that's possible), while it's trust in Bell may have shrunk just a tad. A 70/30 split rest of the year wouldn't surprise me one bit. Keeps them both pretty fresh for the post season and it might keep Bell's future cost down slightly as well.

You could be right and those stats are telling, but I have a feeling the Steelers are going to start preparing for life after Le'Veon Bell.
I do not think there is a chance in fucking hell he'll be re-signed. Chances are below zero. D-Will has plenty left in the tank. We're gonna want him back next year.
He has proven to the Steelers he is still a special player. If you're looking to be a Super Bowl contender, you're gonna need all your weapons.
Haley might be dumb enough to park Williams on the bench and rarely use him, but I think this time he gets it right and Williams gets 8-10 touches per game.

I would love to see that, but I also don't expect it to happen at all. Bell will be run into the ground, and he will dominate every defense he comes against so no one will say a word about it. That is until he gets hurt again. I also don't think DWill is anywhere near Bells equal. Bell is a once in decade type find, outside of his often injured status. Dwill is definitely talented and has found an offense he clicks in, but he isn't near a Bell type of talent.

Ain't gonna happen. Tomlin has proven how he treats RB's
I'd long for a Pony Backfield with Dwill and Bell in the backfield at the same time.
