I'm leaving work around 12pm and heading to da' burgh. I can't pass up this opportunity.
Good luck, Donnie!
I have a morning meeting I can't miss Friday so I had to pass up going.

Good luck, donnie!! Keep us posted.
Heard from a semi-reliable source that Bones might be done for the playoffs. Hope it isn't true; would be a huge loss.

I know he missed practice yesterday- but I'm doubting your source. Would be completely shocked if he missed this game.
Not even a hint he might miss even one game from anywhere else...and I know how secretive NHL teams are with their players' injuries, but news of this magnitude would have leaked out from other sources, I think.

Per rotoworld. June 8, 1:52 pmPenguins coach Mike Sullivan said Wednesday was a maintenance day for Nick Bonino.
As previously reported, Bonino didn't participate in Wednesday's practice. He might be playing through an ailment that he took the day to rest. Either way, it sounds like he's still projected to play in Game 5.
Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

My source claims there is an infection. Bones received a lot of antibiotics yesterday. If there is no fever today, then he'll be good to go. If not, they'll need to clean out the injured portion, which would require surgery.
I was a bit doubtful myself yesterday when I heard, but then I saw the report about Bones missing practice.
My source did tell me Bones is feeling better today.

We'll see.
I know bacterial infections are different, but Michael Jordan played in the Finals with a terrible flu.
Unless the doctors tell Bonino he can't play, I think he goes out there no matter how raging a fever he has.
But we'll see.

Oh, and if Bonino does miss the game...and the rest of the series...I still think the Pens will figure it out.
That's just the way the team is this year.

Probably. Three games left. You can double shift Crosby and Geno. Sundqvist isn't bad.
The Penguins survived the loss of Trevor Daley. I don't expect losing Bonino would kill them.

That's fucking amazing.
I have so many questions.
Does he know Herb Brooks was a coach and not a goalie?
Does he know Kessel isn't a goalie?
Does he know he's not wearing any pants?
Do they really still sell those plastic Mylec goalie sticks?
Why does Powerade branded goalie equipment exist, and does it clash with the obvious Gatorade sponshorship in the background?

He's made a bunch more, too!

I agree that Bones is a great dark house candidate. Series winning goal against the Caps. GWG in SCF 1. Pretty assist numbers. Great work on the PK and blocking shots. But I can't help but feel that Kessel and to a lesser extent Hags are what drive that line.
I think there are a few forwards that could be CS. Tanger obviously has skated a lot of hard minutes so it wouldn't be odd if he won. But he has had some pretty bad games. I kind of lean to Murray (though he has had a few stinkers himself).
Really, they should give it to Sullie

You gotta think Ventrone is living the dream. Pittsburgh kid, playing for the Steelers, prime of his life. Just loving it. I don't know if he was pouring on the yinzer accent for the video or if he is just that yinzer.
Conn Smythe winner will be Sid, Murray or Kessel . Whoever has the best game tonight. Barring a victory of course.

I know you're just having fun, but the get-up is part of Ventrone's JuJu.
IIRC, he started doing these when the Pens got down 3-2 to Tampa in ECF Game 5, so he has to wear the same kind of stuff every time.
Edited to add- he started them the day of Game 7 of the ECF.

BTW, it totally sucks that hockey is so little watched among the sports.
The playoffs this year have featured some amazing games, and yet hockey still gets piddling ratings.
Over in the NBA, on the other hand, pretty much all the playoff games have been stink bombs- yet they get the ratings.
NBC doesn't help matters by burying 3-4 of the 7 potential games on a cable channel not everyone gets.

Drives me fuckin' crazy...such a better game than the NBA. Yet, even here in New England a hockey hotbed, from where the soon-to-be Stanley Cup champs derive four player and their Head Coach, local talk radio has a prolonged discussion on the shitty NBA finals, and NOTHING on the Stanley Cup.

NBA is a lot more entertaining for the casual fan that doesn't know what's going on. When hockey is wide open, it's fantastic entertainment. But when there's a 2 minute puck possession that is primarily just guys battling along the boards, they lose interest.
As much as hockey people think this has been a fun series to watch, I've read a lot of comments from casual fans on various sites saying how boring a series it's been.
