Re: Colin Cowherd - “Steelers have a top 5 roster”
If you count the QB as just one of 22 guys you could argue for the Steelers in the top 5. Weight the QB appropriately and the Steelers are somewhere between 10-15. it defies logic to think that a) Tomlin sucks and b) Canada was the worst OC ever and c) the Steelers don't have a top 10-15 roster . ....

Re: 2024 Hindsight Draft
So, we're taking the Steelers draft, which had the highest average grade of any team, and looking to replace most of the picks with better ones?
It's good content for sure, but you have to admit that it's a little funny.

Re: New Kickoff rule..
I like it better than current. Kickoffs have been boring. They were never going to go with moving the kick 5 yards back because of the injury concerns. So let's see some returns and if our guy Cordarrrelllle can get some big returns. The thing i do hate is the onside kick thing. Why not just give th...

Great post Scunge!
As a long proponent of the Steelers way (conservative, build through the draft, don't overpay guys etc. etc.) I find my self excited by the changes that are happening, and I look forward to the next surprise.

Re: Maybe they are a circus - Fields could supplant Wilson
This is pretty straight forward. Wilson is the presumed #1, will start camp with the #1 reps, but will need to win the QB competition to get the job. I "think" this is exactly how it was communicated when Wilson was signed and then reiterated after the Fields trade. The difference with Fields is th...

Re: The Steelers are now officially the........
If the argument is that the Steelers need to suck so that they can fire Tomlin and replace him with a better coach, and if that happens you don't want the new 5 star coach burdened with a QB that you don't like . . . well ok. There are too many theoretical leaps for me to join you on that ride. All ...

Alert! World class bedwetter thread . . . Yeah QB purgatory sucks, and it usually takes a couple of tries to navigate. Attempt 1 - the Pickett Proposition, was a failure. Now we're on to attempt 2. As it relates to 24 and beyond, a week ago the steelers had Kenny Lil Hands and Mason Stone Feet - alm...

Initial reviews on Jackson are mixed. Is he going to start outside? Is he better than the standard issue JAGS that the Steelers have been rolling out there?

Re: Steelers Trade For Justin Fields
Lamar sucks against good defenses. He really does. But, he's Joe Montana at reading defenses compared to Justin Fields. Have you all watched Fields lately? He's got guys running wide open and just doesn't recognize it. That's why he holds onto the ball so long, takes sacks, and fumbles. He has a HO...

Re: Steelers Trade For Justin Fields
Fields on the Ravens. Jackson on the Bears. What would have been different? I mean, Jackson still can't read a defense. Fields has a better arm. Jackson prob slightly better runner. Key difference is Ravens have built two different offenses specifically for Jackson's talents. The run first approach ...

Re: Steelers signing Safety DeShon Elliott
You can't have stars (or at least pay stars) at every position. He seems to be a league average SS, which is a step up from what they've had the last 5-7 years. Key will be how he pairs up with Minkah. Clark was pretty average, but he was the perfect running mate for Troy.

I think Gus Edwards is better in that offense. He can hit the hole quickly with power off those RPOs. Not sure you can run that as well with Henry who takes some time to get going.

I dunno 41M for a 24 year old anchor MLB in the best defense in football last year, that doesn’t seem that crazy to me. Re: Steelers sign punter Cameron Johnston
In the past 3 years Johnston has had 104 punts downed inside the 20 vs. 11 touchbacks. I've never looked at that stat (or punter stats tbh), but that seems pretty good. Harvin's career is 75/14.

Re: Per Schefter: Russell Wilson is a Steeler, signs one-year deal
The reality is that the Steelers are in a shitty situation as it relates to QB (I'm not going to worry about the shitty situation related to ownership and the head coach as those aren't changing) Running it back with Pickett + Rudolph + an UDFA project QB would have been the worst case scenario, at ...

Why the fuck not? Either you’re all in on a Championship or you’re all in on a rebuild. We know this organization won’t admit it’s time to rebuild, so go sign Russ. It costs you zero draft picks and no cap space. He’s played a lot under center, does well in play action, looked good last year, and w...

Cheap, shortsighted or non caring. Take your pick(s). Players are regulated via draft and cap. It's very hard to build any long term advantage there (other than having a better staff). Staff and management - Coaching, scouting, analytics, cap experts, facilities, travel etc etc are not regulated. Yo...

I'm going to look on the brightside: - it's not easy going 21-30 with the Falcons, especially with the QBs they've had during that span. He was a middle of the pack head coach. - the Falcons were competitive in most games - I bet either for or against them almost weekly, so I have a sense for how mo...
