Re: Pens vs Rangers (3/16/24)

5 goals on 20 shots. They’ve gotten good looks but Christ you’re allowed to make a save.

Hope they can move Jarry this offseason. So inconsistent.

Re: Pens vs Flyers (2/25/24)

Gonna be a long two months for me as I can not help but be sentimental about this group. Every time they have even a one goal lead I let myself start thinking “maybe they’re about to go on a streak”. Then they turn right back into what they are, not very good. But seriously I think they’re about to ...

Re: Pens vs Jets (2/6/24)

Sully tried it for a few games weeks ago but abandoned it fairly quickly. 5 minutes of contiguous PK is so tough. Malkin/Karlsson lack chemistry and it is really apparent on the PP I’ve always thought Geno had an easier time finding chemistry with guys compared to Sid. Maybe with less cooks in the ...

Maybe the split power play is the answer. Each unit has two guys to play the piano and three guys to carry it.

Re: Down time(All star break)

I’m not sure keeping Geno off the first PP is the solution for what ails them, but he’d be my last choice to be the one lugging the puck on zone entries. That gallop through the neutral zone isn’t quite there any longer. If they can just get to league average on the man advantage they should make th...

Re: QB Purgatory

I like the Justin Fields idea. We’re gonna run it a whole lot, bringing in a running qb wouldn’t hurt achieve that stated goal. Could Fields consistently hit enough chunk plays behind a fearsome ground game for the team to actually compete? I guess that’s the question. They’d need a center and a tac...

Multiple after the play penalties. Multiple head shots on Mahomes. Too many men immediately following a kick off. Bush league cheap shot bullshit on that intentional offsides.

Not interested in hearing Harbaugh complimenters ever. Fuck that guy.

Can’t imagine Lamar plays next week Dolphins want a home game and Bills are schizo Wouldn’t be afraid of Dolphins in the playoffs. Not if Mason is good for 24 points and Minkah gets healthy All of a sudden it’s a divisional game vs Lamar and he’s never really played well against us From there who kn...

Agreed but peezy needs to keep the effort high. Metcalf had two big handfuls of jersey both times, difference is on the goal line JPJ just stands there. Moves his feet a little and the ref is forced to call it second time.

Re: At the end of the day this loss is mainly on…

Why is “it was 3-3 when he got injured” being used as a pro lil Ken argument? That’s one of the worst defenses in the league. He led the team to 3 whole points in two quarters. That is a bad job. It happens that way all the time. Too often he doesn’t see open guys. He misses too often when he does s...

To beat the best teams the 'guins will need to be defense first and get good goaltending. They were 0 for 2 on that last night. It's not the biggest deal that they get lulled into track meets w faster teams every once in a while. Hopefully they're more diligent Saturday - don't want to see bad games...

Karlsson last night, wow. Let him off the leash permanently, that was some display. All the top guys look great, and good for Rust to start on a hot streak (though he's the streakiest of the top 6 so we'll see how long it lasts). Love that for them. More offense, more games, more nights of the week, more playoff qualifiers. None of it has to do with improving the game - its all just a relentless pursuit of one thing: more money. It's the owners business, and they are of course free to maximize revenues as much as they'd like, but at some point ...

Almost certain we get a fire Canada chant tonight.

Crosby Malkin and the rest of the top 6 look good to me. Letang's last few haven't been great, but he started hot and doesn't worry me. If the big three are fine ultimately the team will be fine. Still, not sure any part of the offseason plan for the defense or bottom six looks good. Dumo was the gu...

I think firing Canada in season might be worse than keeping him. I don't want anyone on this offensive staff with a leg up when it comes time to hire next year's coordinator. Anyone that has even marginal success as an "interim" OC will be a heavy heavy favorite to get the permanent job in 2023, and...

We’re back! Long season ahead for a team most see as a probable playoff qualifier with a ceiling of winning one or maaaybe two playoff series. If that’s the case so be it. First INT could have been a better throw, but Claypool had all day to gather his feet and high point that ball. Instead he stumbles into a backwards fall (like he always does) and clangs one to the opposition. No matter what degree it’s under thrown, interception should a remote possibility with tha...

I really don't see the point of the Trocheck talk at all. 1. He's been a point per game guy twice in his career 2. I don't think his 29 and 30 year old seasons will be better than Malkin's 36 and 37 year seasons 3. He'd need term to sign here so halfway through his contract we're right back where we...

Sometimes you play well enough to win, but you lose. That rarely feels good, but this hurts double since the main fellas don’t have many more tries left. Maybe none.

I hope they all come back, but I think Rust will be a very rich Red Wing next season.
