Re: Comments on Justin Fields from Bears fans

Thanks to the internet, I’ve learned that the problem with our offense in 2021 was that Ben would just stay in the pocket when the protection broke down. Where more recently under Pickett, the problem has been that he wouldn’t just stay in the pocket when the protection broke down. Issues which we h...

Re: Diggs traded to Houston

If i’m buffalo the only reason i might not expect that trade to help cost me a playoff game this season is if i don’t expect to be in the playoffs this season. Definitely would have expected them to look for an NFC partner for that, or at least not to an AFC contender.

Re: Pre Draft Visit and Pro Day Tracker

To be fair, them bringing Penix in for a visit is a bigger signal than Khanlin meeting with hin at his pro day would have been. If they went to his pro day, could be interepreted as Odunze being the target. Bringing Penix in for a visit means Penix is of interest full stop.

Re: 2024 SF Board Draft Comments & Critiques

Vikings draft leaned more need more towards need picks than I like. Not a big fan of the Edge/IDL class. 1.11 JJ McCarthy, QB, Michigan. Positives: tools, age, accuracy, Negatives: didn’t dominate games. May not have had the great WRs groups other college QBs enjoyed, but running game was pulling pl...

Re: Maybe they are a circus - Fields could supplant Wilson

Andy Reid and Belichick are/were retreads, as with Stafford, Bucs Brady, Foles Philly, Peyton Broncos, Brees Saints, etc etc etc etc Pretty common that when the main problem with an organization is the front office, they choose to scapegoat a quality QB/HC go rather than firing themselves. Smart org...

Re: Terry McLaurin rumor

Mclaurin is basically diontae production, except older and with a much higher cap hit. I mean, if we could have traded diontae for a 2nd rounder and then traded a 6th for mclaurin, sure, but trading a premium pick to make diontae older with a bigger cap hit would be nutso. So i assume that’s the pl...

Re: Maybe they are a circus - Fields could supplant Wilson

Wilson will begin the season as the starter. They obviously will have packages for Fields to run. Depending on how the season goes, I'm sure Russ and Tomlin both understand that the Steelers need to see exactly what they have with Fields and if he's going to be worth investing in after 2024 so I do...

Re: Jackson restructure

Does this mean Jackson agreed to a paycut? Spotrac still has the old numbers up: $4.7m base + $4m roster + $1.8m per game / workout = $10.5m payout Now Overthecap has him at $1.25 base + $4.75m signing bonus = $6m payout. I'm wondering if there's a void year that's not being caught? Correct. A payc...

Kwesi looks up at the board and nods. He takes one last drag and drops the butt in Kevin O’Connell’s merlot; Kevin seems offended, but clearly unsurprised. By draft value chart, we basically traded Pickett for Fields + a late 4th. Not ideal how Fields and Wilson are both in one-and-donish contract situations, but hard to complain too much.

Re: Diontae Johnson & a 7th traded to Carolina for CB Donte Jackson & a 6th

My point is, of all the drafts I can think of, THIS is the draft where you could move down 5 or 6 picks (maybe more) and still could easily come away with a stud, all the while adding more high picks to a team that could really use them. Totally get that, but the reason they wouldn't is right there...

Re: Steelers signing Safety DeShon Elliott

For what it’s worth, pff has elliott at a 72.6 for last season, which is pretty healthy. I was skeptical of the browns picking up Thornhill last season because he always had a Mahomes-like QB rating when targeted, but he Thornhill’s pff rating was pretty good, and he worked out well for them.

$3.6M is pretty decent backup QB money. That is almost exactly what Gardner Minshew got from the Colts last offseason. I think most of us can agree Rudolph cemented himself as a pretty decent backup QB option. It should be no surprise this is the payday he got. Not a surprise to me. I said all alon...

Softest Steelers WR of my lifetime. The drops, the fumbles, the backwards running… and when he added in being a malcontent to being soft, fuck him and good riddance! I’m starting to love Omar Khan Couldn’t agree more. Find the next AB, SH, HW, or ES. Too much mediocrity from DJ made it detrimental ...
