I don't think he's tough enough to run those routes over the middle. Welker may be a crying china doll, but he's fearless.

Welker is a 70% reception rate guy....Sanders might improve in that system, but he's more like a 60% guy, and that won't cut it in Heir Manning's offense.

I think Sanders is better than people give him credit for here, I just don't think he's a top-30 receiver in this league. And I'm not convinced Manning and his system make guys better (relative to other top QB's), he's just been loaded with weapons/options most of his career. It's not like Sanders is coming from CLE where he had shit at QB.

If Manning throws 30% more passes/yards than PIT, then Sanders will see maybe 30% more in his stats, which puts him in the 1000/8 neighborhood. I don't see any reason to believe he grabs disproportionately more of that offense than he did in PIT. I don't think Sanders is as good as Decker and I don't think he puts up Decker's numbers in that offense.

Without welker, broncs offense looks a bit like '01 colts to me - stud #1 wr, good TE, some jags at wr beyond that. Sanders playing the pathon or wilkins role.

I could see sanders having a 1k season like stokley in '04, matched up against lbs etc while the #1 and #2 drew double coverage, but in the current scenario...I don't see peyton doing more with him than he could do with gonzalez or collie or pathon or whoever else.

Sanders may have hit the lottery there in Denver. We'll see. I can't help but root against the asshat but I have no doubt manning to sanders will be in the highlights this season. :|

I'm not sure he's very Welkeresque. Sanders is a better Y in my opinion... basically more like AB. I'm thinking they'll run Caldwell more in the slot

Something will go wrong for Clank.

It always does.

Injuries, huge drops in big situations.

Something will go wrong.

Book it.

That was the old Clank. This is the new, properly led, catching balls after practice Clank.

Either Clank himself will fuck it all up, or Manning will go down for the year.

Something bad will happen to Clank.

It always does.

Well timed "injuries" can really help maintain perceived potential that helps you get more contracts without ever having to produce over the long haul. It is a quiet but well worn cash flow prolonging strategy.
