The first 4 games.....
At Buf 1pm - Somehow I’m kinda expecting C19 to help the Steelers and fuck up the Bills or at least a few key players and punish them for there insolence. I got a feeling either Ben or Najee makes the Bills pay for not respecting the other one enough. I know people think Allen is great but will he run around too much and fall prey to Highsmith and Watt ??
Raiders at Pit 1pm - I think the Raiders will be a very tough but I just don’t fear Carr. Raiders play the previous Monday at home vs the Ravens. Should be a physical game
Bengals at Pit 1pm - Sorry I just don’t fear Burrow or the Bengals
At GB - I expect Rogers to be in full on passive aggressive bitch mode by week 4. Steelers ride a 3 game win streak to 4 and all they keep hearing is what about last year ?

Buffalo could be tough if Allen gets loose. Would like to see him harassed enough to make mistakes.
Agree with you about Carr, he can sling the ball and some plays but looks like he is crying, even when not getting hit.
Think Burrow looks like he could be good but don't think Bengals are contenders.
Rogers is creating turmoil. Plus kind of comes across as an ass. Not a good thing for teambuilding. Probably good to face them early.
Buffalo might be the worst of them.

I look for Tomlin to come out on a yinzer rock pounding mission week one in Buf... Wouldn't surprise me if Harris and Snell get 100 on the ground.
Of course, love your optimism, STD! I do think the early going might be rough as this essentially brand new O-Line works themselves into a road grading and kick ass unit. We might suffer a little bit early on, but I am expecting good things from this offense as the season progresses. I'll tell you what. I cannot f-ing wait to see Najee run the pigskin down defenders throats!! Can almost smell kickoff, baby! Let's go!!!
I'll just focus on game one. I would really like to see us get after Buffalo. Need some revenge for last season, and this time around, we're the hunter not the hunted. Make it happen.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

If the O-line becomes road graders and play downhill and Harris breaks a few nice big gainers in the early portion of a game or maybe a few early in the season and they will solidify as as a unit, as well as player that will work a little extra for those guys up front.MJG75 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 28, 2021 5:06 amOf course, love your optimism, STD! I remember an old line coach that said football is a game of hitting the guy across from you and making the guy across from you stop wanting to be hit - in it's most basic form. A young downhill blocking line would be the quickest way to coach up a line. Add in the tackle over, formation shifts, sweeps and jet sweep action to keep defenders flat footed for an extra half step or thinking instead of flowing and you have a recipe for a line to come together quickly and hope they stay healthy because we know very little about the oline depth or the actual starting 5 or 6 at this point.
I’d like to see us use the momentum from Pouncey’s air mailed snap into the end zone, the defense’s MIA performance and the overall sloppy, disgusting performance vs Cleveland to keep it close vs Buffalo.
Tomlin, undoubtedly, will have the boys looking sharp and have a game plan in place to take advantage of the many Bills flaws.
We lose a tight one as a roughing penalty late, on a 3rd ans 17 puts Buff in FG position for the win.
Bills win 23-20
Tomlin in his post game conference proclaims a need for more “splash plays” and wraps it up with “we tip our hats to the Bills.”
0-1

French and Yiddish all at once. Well done!

I’d bet the leg isn’t fully healed yetjebrick wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 9:16 pmApparently, Burrows is stinking up training camp.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Thu Jul 15, 2021 1:45 am

I’d also bet the Bengals will push him to play way too soon and get him injured again and accelerate his decline.
That’s how the Bengals are

Add in a pretty bad O-line and it's a recipe for disaster.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 9:26 pmI’d bet the leg isn’t fully healed yetjebrick wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 9:16 pmApparently, Burrows is stinking up training camp.SteelerDayTrader wrote: ↑Thu Jul 15, 2021 1:45 am

Burrow's leg is healed, he just doesn't trust it right now.
He'll get there.
He'll get there.

I'm just thrilled we don't play the Raiders away. We know how that story goes.
I think it's a tough 4 game stretch to open the season. Bengals are likely going to be better than people expect.

I'm surprised Tomlin didn't insist we play the Raiders right away so as to keep time pressure on them.StillerInCT wrote: ↑Wed Aug 04, 2021 10:22 pmI'm just thrilled we don't play the Raiders away. We know how that story goes.
