Packers
That was a damn entertaining game. Watching a functioning offense was fun. Any hope that Rogers comes here next year?
That pass down the deep middle to Adams, just over Warner's outstretched hand, on the final drive was a thing of beauty.

Its like watching a sport that is different and much more enjoyable and requires much more skill and speed and technique than whatever was being played in today's atrocity at Heinz.

I think it’s totally possible that we lose by 3 touchdowns next week. Something like 38-13.

Wonder what the last time the Steelers were double digit underdogs?
Possible next week?

Anyone that thinks this team gets blown out next week is nuts. The line is Packers -7 1/2. Not saying they will win, but this is how it has been during the Tomlin era, play down to the competition and then play up to it as well. That more then anything saves captain stunads job every year.

The Steelers are the low level of competition... there aint much lower than the Steelers right now.Stlcrtn1974 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 11:01 amAnyone that thinks this team gets blown out next week is nuts. I don't get this thread. I have been assured by many on this board that even in recent years Ben is a better QB than Rodgers. Should be a tight game, but Ben will outplay Rodgers. Ben will have a 4Q winning drive. And I have been assured Rodgers is lousy at those. So, I'm confident.

You forgot to mention that Rodgers did basically nothing yesterday while Ben led the Steelers to 21 first downs.
We are +7 right now. No way it stays there.rooneytunes wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 4:17 amWonder what the last time the Steelers were double digit underdogs?

The motion and execution on their first TD was just awesome. I can't even imagine something like that happening in our offense.

What sorcery do they use to allow receivers to get open?
We had plenty of open receivers.rocky mtn stiller wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 8:18 pmWhat sorcery do they use to allow receivers to get open?

We didn't play down to the Bengals. They are flat out better than us.Stlcrtn1974 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 11:01 amAnyone that thinks this team gets blown out next week is nuts. Rodgers isn't lousy at home. He's not as good when trailing vs a team with a winning record. He's played very well the past 6 quarters.Professor Half Wit wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 11:26 amI don't get this thread. Yeah, to call the Bungs and Raiders games "playing down" is a little bit optimistic at this point in a 1-2 season.StillerInCT wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 10:56 pmWe didn't play down to the Bengals. Agreed. We got beat by better teams. Plain and simple.
Maybe that changes as the season evolves but right now, on paper and on the field we were the inferior team that got handled as an inferior team should.

Do the Steelers play any non-better teams in 2021? It seems pretty clear as the Bengals are a lesser team than Cleveland & Baltimore that all the other teams in the division are better teams.

The Packers led the league in scoring last year and have put up 30+ twice already this year, I'm not sure it's nuts to think they could blow out a team with 4 offensive TDs in 3 games.

Yeah, this looks like the same team that got beat by Ryan Finley's Bengals last year.
I'm not saying they won't win another game, just that outside of Jags/Jets who else in the NFL could they possibly be favored against?
Bears maybe?
Currently +7 or +7.5 vs. Green Bay, though that line will likely go up...

The Packers starting offensive line from the San Francisco game this past week may have less experience than any other unit in all of the NFL. The LT, LG, C & RG have a combined total of 9 starts in the NFL, and include a pair of rookies. Despite all that, they turned in a stellar performance in primetime.
The Steelers dogs on the outside look ready to hunt this weekend. The intensity we saw in Buffalo should return, even if all the rotational players on the interior aren't all there. Pressure is the great equalizer for any quarterback, even the most talented ones.
Pittsburgh will have to get to Rodgers come crunch time.

It is more like the Bills played down to their competition in season opener.Ice wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 4:01 pmYeah, to call the Bungs and Raiders games "playing down" is a little bit optimistic at this point in a 1-2 season.StillerInCT wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 10:56 pmWe didn't play down to the Bengals. it's okay to give the Steelers some credit. The Bills had a 3-2 total ydg advantage, 80+ penalty yards, a lost fumble, gave up a punt block TD. The Steelers get credit for doing enough to win despite scoring one offensive TD.
