Mann, Gentry, Mason, Boykin, Olsheivsky, Pierre maybe?

Conner Heyward as 10th OL over KG.
TE, RB, H-back
In reality CH as TE #3/#4
And RB #3/#4
May be what saves a spot for Tomlin to justify keeping KG.
Rather keep an extra DL, ILB or DB with that CH flexibility

When do teams need to get to 53?

Clark isn't making the team. That's Dylan Cook's spot.
Solid compensation since Dotson was going to get cut anyway. I have the Rams as a bottom 10 team.

Then you say oh well and cut him anyways.Probably also means there were no takers for Green
Hopefully our line stays healthy and it’s a non-issue.
I just don’t like any scenario that puts Green back on the field for meaningful games.
He’s that bad.
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 88 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

Green can be cut then added to the PS if they wanna keep him around to see if ever develops into a #53 by adding versatility.

I think Cook is kept over Clark but otherwise agree.

We have traded G Kevin Dotson, a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft & a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to the L.A. Rams for a fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft & a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

To your point Okorafor is on borrowed time as well. He was continually walked back by 2nd and 3rd tier players not that he was going all out in pre-season but I saw little to be confident about.955876 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 27, 2023 11:16 pmHard pass. Trade Moore to a LT challenged franchise similar to the Claypool deal….![]()
Moore is the RT for next few years with Jones at LT.
Don’t create a hole getting cute.
Now if they feel Jones is ready and want to trade Chuks I wouldn’t hate it.
But I wanna compete this year. Jones is very raw. I like the depth
Does Moore replace him at RT? Moore is almost worse at RT than LT IMO…it is challenging for guys to flip sides after playing the other. Perhaps he can be coached up but I believe switching sides may not be in the Steelers best interest.
Moore is at least serviceable, yes he has worts but could still be decent trade bait going forward. I believe it’s Completely Plausible without creating a “hole”.
Clark is an absolute dumpster fire and would not be in my plans very long. Thinking either Cook or Anderson could be potentially a stop gap. I think their future RT isn’t yet on the current roster and neither is their future center. JMO

Hate Green on the line but pancaking someone on short n goal as a FB would be ok with me.
I realize cant keep his job open on the 53 for scarce FB play but it did look awesome in camp.
eh? Latish 5th for earlyish 4th is worth 50-70 points, late 4th or so value.tbsteel wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 1:35 amLooking at the trade value chart, in terms of expected points (say the Steelers are roughly 15 draft spots behind the Rams), we basically traded Dotson for the value of an early 5th round draft pick. If the gap is greater between the Rams and Steelers, then it takes on even a higher value.

Dotson plays RG well and that is it. Green plays RG well too. While is is shit at C he at least has played the position in the NFL I also think he moves better than Dotson (I like Dotson). Dotson is more of a kick your ass in a small area guy though. I do not think he adapted well to Meyers independent punch technique.
The Steelers have certainly shown through this offseason that Green can’t really play any position.
Someone thought it was a good idea to push that he could play a “skilled position”

Based on Dotson passing his physical…. The Steelers will save $1.8mil in cap space this year carrying approximately $164K in dead money. Factor in the additional cuts ultimately resulting in more cap space, Addition draft capitol is just genius. Makes one wonder if there was a player initially they thought they could trade straight up for and/or fleece as part of the deal?
Thoughts on Emil Ekiyor? Recently cut by the Colts. Center prospect?

I like the Dotson trade. Great value in return and we have good depth on the interior. Cook has really come on this summer and I think he takes a spot. He was playing LG the other night and doing it fairly well. Guy was a QB to start and has really good feet. Credit to Khan and Weidl for spotting that when TB cut him in OTAs. (Btw--I'm worried about losing Weidl...people are starting to pay attention there.)
Green should be cut and move on with his life's work. He's not even worth a PS IMO.
Moore has improved over the offseason at OT, but he still has room to grow. Chuks is Chuks. He's being overpaid for what he is but, you still need that tackle depth in the NFL. I would not get rid of him.

I believe we make the playoffs this year and win a playoff game, if that happens we could be right around our average draft slot these past 20 years, somewhere around 23-24, etc.tbsteel wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 1:35 amLooking at the trade value chart, in terms of expected points (say the Steelers are roughly 15 draft spots behind the Rams), we basically traded Dotson for the value of an early 5th round draft pick. I see the RAMs falling apart this year, they paid a price to win that Super Bowl and it will cost them dearly the next couple of seasons.
So, I can see them picking in the top 10 again for the 2024 draft. Just for argument say they pick 6th.
Now remember that there are compensation picks at the end of the 4th round. Last year netted only one but prior years there were as many as 6, 7, etc.
Last draft (2023) the 6th pick in the 4th round was the 108th overall pick. The 24th pick in the 5th round was the 159th overall pick.
So, hypothetically in this scenario, if the Steelers swapped their 5th round pick for that 4th round pick, they moved up 51 spots. If there are more 4th round comp picks doled out for 2024 as in 2022 and 2021, they could possibly have moved up even more, like 56-57 spots.
Same scenario could play out for that 5th-6th round swap of picks.
To me this is very smart and it is something that I hope the Steelers continue to do.

Wouldn't be surprised if payment comes due this year for the 49ers too, starting with a nice Steeler victory! Couple that with an injury or two, the implosion could start rather quickly....I imagine everyone on the team is on the razor's edge of being bought in with the front office and coaching being crazy like a fox, and/or ready to jump ship because the brain trust traded all those draft picks for nothing because they are crazy for real. Would not surprise me in the least!Pabst wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 4:13 pmDude, the Rams fell apart *last year*. They were 5-12.
