Tomlin will likely, promote Faulkner to OC and they'll hire another running backs coach.
Yup those were my additions as well

Since I enjoy crunching numbers, let's tie some cap implications to all these names.....Trubisky
Loudermilk
Chuks
Obvious cuts / Big Cap Savings:
Chucks - No one in their right mind is paying $11.8m for a backup tackle. He's due a roster bonus on March 19th, so expect him to be cut as soon as the new league year begins. Cap Savings: $8.75m
Robinson - No one in their right mind is paying $11.9m for a 31 year old WR that can't eclipse 300 yards. He's cut pre-draft. Cap Savings: $10.00m
Wallace - He's a UFA anyway. No cap savings here.
Next in Line:
Cole - Roster bonus of $1.5m due 3/19. Possible savings is $4.75m
Peterson - $3m roster bonus due 3/19. Possible savings is $6.85m
Trubisky - Roster bonus of $1m due 3/19. Possible savings is $4.25m
Cap Savings for Leal, Loudermilk, and Harvin would all be minimal.
My overall thoughts:
1. Chucks, Robinson, and Wallace are all gone. No question.
2. As things stand right now, cutting Cole, Peterson, or Trubisky carries a great deal of risk. Cut Cole, and you're left with only one guy on the roster who can play C. Cut Peterson, and your CBs are Joey Porter Jr and 2 guys who've never stepped foot on an NFL field. Cut Trubisky and the only QB on the roster is Kenny Pickett.
3. Leal, Loudermilk, and Harvin aren't going anywhere before training camp, so don't get worked up about it.

We badly need DE help. Cam is about done and way more expensive than he’s worth. Ogunjobi is always hurt and hasn’t produced much, especially given his price tag. The young depth generally blows.

Leal is still on his rookie deal
He’s not getting cut
Cole will be kept until they find someone else
Pat Pete?? Tough to say. I think Tomlin likes him, so good chance he’s still on the team
Same w Robinson, but he likely has to take a salary cut
Trubisky is definitely gone
Chucks likely gone as well; particularly given the recent comments he’s made in the media

Who here is gonna cry because Okorafor leaves? We extended this fat ass $30 million just because he's a merely adequate RT that's soft in the run game. On top of that he's an insubordinate who whined so much the coaching staff decided we could watch him rot on the bench half the year.Thrillsseeker wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 5:06 pmYeah he’s gone because: “we want volunteers not hostages” we’re fucked until this embarrassing fraudulent mother fucker gets out of our organization.anpsteel wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 4:30 pmLeal is still on his rookie deal

Broderick Jones - a rookie who barely played the position - switched midseason and blew him out of the water.
Total waste, take a hike.

Leal might be on his rookie deal but he barely even dressed this season. He is either in the doghouse, totally sucks, maybe a combo of both.
Think about his rookie year he was even playing rotational edge and looked pretty good.
Now the dude is wearing sweatpants on game day. Another Tomlin gem.
Chucks, Robinson and Mitch are for sure cuts for me. Pat Pete after that playoff game is borderline (I don’t really care about the lack of depth; you bring in a younger faster free agent and you draft probably two CBs and hope Trice comes back after injury).
Peterson cannot play the position anymore. He’s a liability back there. If he’s open to playing a depth safety role, maybe we will listen. He cannot play outside corner in the NFL any longer.

I’m really trying to ween myself off giving a rip about my once beloved Pittsburgh Steelers until Art2 and Tomlin are gone, but the rare break in my day just won’t permit it.
At this juncture in my fandom there really isn’t much point to anything I ever post other than idol ramblings floating around my head.
Plenty of players I’d wave “bye bye” to but the Steelers wouldn’t be able to field a team.
Let’s look at the before mentioned Chuks just as a for instance.
Mediocre talent at best, probably drafted a round or three too soon.
The draft isn’t the crapshoot pundits want you to believe it is.
Lifelong football men get paid to do nothing but scout and watch film of college football players (sweet gig if you can get it).
So no, it’s NOT ok to be waving "Bye-Bye" to a 3rd round pick like Chuks here.
BUT were these paid scouts really wrong in their evaluation of say a Chuks?
My personal belief is that Tomlin and his “staff” failed to properly develop him and other players of his ilk.
I mean Chuks had the look of a LT. Played there in college correct?
WTF is he doing at RT?
Rhetorical mostly as I believe the Steelers boxed themselves in a corner ignoring the OT position for like 30 years so they had to do their usual hole patching.
Kevin Dotson?
Kid came right out and said he’s a RG so WTF was he doing at LG other than sucking on a weekly basis?
So finally a 1st round pick is used on a potential franchise LEFT TACKLE.
Once again, Tomlin and his “staff” are potentially wrecking Broderick Jones’ development playing him out of position.
WHY???
So freakin’ stupid and frustrating I can’t wrap my tiny brain around it.
Tired of having angst over the SHIT OFF STUPID DECISIONS of Tomlin and his “staff”
DeMarvin Leal?
Another 3rd round pick (rumored to have a 1st round grade)
WTF happened to that kid?
Went from showing flashes to inactive in yet another Tomlin playoff loss (warned you I would ramble).
Only players that seem to be immune to regression under Tomlin are Watt, Minkah, and Suwanee GA’s own Cam Heyward.
Highsmith is ok I guess but 7 sacks? Seems a bit low to me playing opposite Watt.
Who’s next to be ruined under Tomlin’s “tutelage?”
JPJ? Benton??
Gawd I hope not.
Make it stop!!!
So Chuks is “bye-bye” in Pittsburgh.
But at least he got himself benched and soon to be run out of town by voicing his frustration.
Najee, a bust and yet another case in regression under Tomlin, also is speaking his mind voicing frustration.
Let’s see where that lands him this offseason.
ROCK

BOAT
NAJEE
The GREAT NICK SABAN YOU AIN’T, Cool Shades, loser of 5 straight playoff games.
Kenny Pickett, a MAJOR bust and regressor under Tomlin no showed his exit press conference.
Let’s see where that lands him this offseason.
This list goes on and on…
I’ll save my feelings on the Steelers’ approach to hole filling free agents for another time but that brings me to my top “Bye-Bye”player for this thread, Patrick Peterson.
Nice tackle attempt on a wide open sack of Josh Allen
Pussy.
That dude is gawd awful.
He’s best not be a Pittsburgh Steeler next season.
Other must goes revolve around Tomlin and the majority of his “staff.”
How Austin gets a yearly pass is mind boggling.
Terrible football “coach” and my top bye bye on Tomlin’s “staff”
The sort of point to this long ramble is there are plenty of players AND “coaches” we all want to say “bye-bye” to but looking past just their obvious poor performance you have to consider the source of their struggles.
I’m looking at you MICHAEL PETTAWAY TOMLIN
Sadly, not saying a BIG “BYE- BYE” to YOU just yet, but that day is coming (sooner rather than later I HOPE).

I'm not calling Najee a bust, he's good when used properly.
Najee's issues are mostly Tomlin issues.
But Najee's a Tomlin fave right?
Like Lenny in Mice and Men, Tomlin kills the thing he loves the most.

That’s a nose tackle, not a DE. I understand 58. But, how can you pick & choose what players are dead weight before fixing the dead weight coaches?
Example:
Laundry Jones, Trubisky, Duck, Dobbs, Pickett, Oldakun, Mason, last 2 years of Ben, T. Morgan, Haskins; DO/DID they ALL SUCK? Does NOT a single one have enough ability to trend up (even ever so slightly)? Is it a terrible QB trend? A evaluation trend? Or is it a terrible QB coaching trend?
If you have a coach that has not had A SINGLE player, even a "get lucky" outlier player, ever progress under you, I say its a terrible coach trend.
If we get rid of all 3 QBs & replace them with Brady, Montana & Bradshaw, I think they all 3 will look like Pickett, Duck or Trubisky under this QB coach. He's a PROVEN terrible QB coach trend. Proven, verified, obvious, no more excuses or wait n sees...............
If you don't replace the coaches first; same ole, same ole.
Now do Tight Ends. Then do WRs since AB's meltdown. Clue: You'll find more terrible coach trends.

I agree but the names of the players are IMO no Brainers.
But i agree we have one of the weaker staffs
OL Meyer the best we has since MM but not saying Much
TE Roberts they really not got much even the Pat been injured and not much from the other TE
WR Frishman was not impressed with the play of the WR
DL dunbar ok but no one stepped up Leal or Loudermilk
DC Austin totally unimpressed with the defense under him even though get a pass with all the injuries
