Trey Amos would've been a great Steeler type CB had we not dealt that 2nd rounder.

I’m loath to skip anybody on day one, especially because I have a sneaking suspicion St. Patrick’s Day could be involved. But let me see if I can line the next few picks up. And if so we’ll move on

Jebrick is as long timer as it gets here— I’m making a moderator decision to wait for him. I’m particularly sorry because I know Sheppard, Greg, Jolene, & Pitty Smitty are all in mountain or central time. But the last three messages I got all encouraged me not to skip him tonight. If we get to the early AM and I still haven’t heard from him, I will start whenever Sheppard & Pitty are awake and ready.
Sorry for the delay and hope all is well with Brick

Anyone looking to trade back, hit me up. The Lions may be interested in moving up.

Broncos willing to trade back from 2.51.
I'm going to bet that Mike Green falls out of the 1st round based on character issues but he is a tremendous EDGE rusher.

Alexander is one that I worry about because of his lack of production in college. Was he misused or moved around too much?

Lined up a little bit of everywhere, don't know how much coaching he got. Sometimes when I looked at his film I thought, because he was their best athlete, they asked him to do a lot. Being next to Chris Jones is going to help big time and I think he'll do well in Spagnulo's scheme.

I mean, Alexander is top 15 in the class in stuff like production and splash production per game for his career (and he basically did little on the stat sheet the first three years), so it's not like he's got nothing. Also, I'm sure he faced a LOT more attention than some of the DTs with more production, who often lined up near some other NFL guys.
I would say it's a minor concern that he played perhaps his best ball starting in year 4 and year 5. Late breakout.

Aireontae Ersery could easily be a 1st round pick. I think he is going to do well in the NFL
Collins will be an interesting one. He would be a great Heyward replacement. Very good 2-gapper and run stopper but not very explosive and not many pass moves. A year behind Heyward to learn his craft would work well. One of the better 5-techs in the draft.

Really thought I had a chance of double-dipping at OG, but Korey had to screw those plans up.
Jackson at this point in r2 is a great pick.

I just can't see them drafting a 2-gap guy who doesn't offer much pass rushing. They are pretty seriously 1-gap most of the time. I like Collins as a run stopper though, you're right about that.jebrick wrote: ↑Tue Mar 18, 2025 4:50 pmAireontae Ersery could easily be a 1st round pick. I think he is going to do well in the NFL

As, I said earlier, I think it is more likely than not that George Pickens will be either traded at or before the draft, at the deadline, or at best that he won't be re-signed. The Steelers front office making a statement that they would agree to trade Pickens "if he asked". Was a little bit shocking to me. From Pickens' point of view, he now gets half of the deep sideline balls that were about the only consistent targets he got. And there's no QB. If they don't sign Aaron Rodgers (I doubt they will), I would be totally unshocked if Pickens requested a trade. So, I decided to play out the scenario. Had an offer for a 4th, then a 3rd rounder, then a better 3rd, then a 2nd. When I told this to ol skool, he asked to make a counteroffer. Since I hadn't committed to the early deals, I heard him out and he offered 54. I basically traded Pickens for DK and got an pick swap of a low 7th for a good 6th.

A collective sigh from the Panthers' war room after super athlete Landon Jackson (DE/Edge) from Arkansas goes off the board.
The balloon reinflates, however, with the Steelers offering Broderick Jones for 2.57. Carolina trusts that a change of scenery will help him reach his immense potential as a people moving bully.

Carolina was delighted to find the decorated ('24 1st Team All-American, ' 24 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Winner, '24 SEC DPOY) Kyle Kennard available early in the 3rd round.
And even if he is not the same player from this past season right away, he gives someone for the newly acquired Broderick Jones to push around and get his confidence back

I've solved that problem by not having a QB. Makes the OL look better, too.I sack your QB.
