I’m strangely not that surprised.

When our pass rush couldn’t get there, with these receivers we were gonna be fucked.
Had Rodgers and Metcalf not turned it over, we would have won this game. 14 points off those turnovers
Yeah the decision by Rodgers on that deep ball go Metcalf was stupid but the defender just made an amazing play on the pick.

The offense wasn’t the problem tonight though.

Our defense blows.

I know not many will agree but I really would not be upset if they lost the next 3 to GB Indy and Chargers to go 4-5 maybe that shake up this team

The Tomlin D is all predicated on pass rush. If we don’t get to the quarterback or get a lucky TO the defense is fucked. Like tonight.
Tomlin's gameplan is predicated on winning the TO battle.

Bingo and pressuring (and sacking the QB.)

We didn’t do either tonight.

Did Tomlin run off the field at the end?

How do you let Chase go off for 16 catches?

How does that happen without you trying to do SOMETHING different?

And what is Love going to do to us next Sunday?
Surprisingly, bringing in a bunch of ancient CB's with big names and salaries wasn't the solution.

It's amazing to me after all those years avoiding older guys to, say, patch up the OL or anything like that, that when Tomlin goes shopping for vets he picks the position on the field that is probably most bas4ed on athleticism and youth.

I said Ramsey would get lit up today (and this is the team they brought him in for) and look what happened.
While your point has some validity- the real issue is, the Tomlin D confuses almost no one - especially not a qb who’s played against it 20+ times
The scheme is simple garbage despite having more experience and continuity on defense than anyone in the league. I've argued that on many occasions, as well.

But the CB's were just getting their asses handed to them tonight and they're paid too much for that. Too much of the plan for this season relies on those guys being the guys.

That felt like basically every Aaron Rodgers playoff loss lol.
Rodgers offenses have underwhelmed in the post-season for the most part. Especially in his last few outings. It wasn't the defense that let him down.

So that's something to look forward to in January.
You're dead ass wrong.

He's played in 22 playoff games. In only 1 of those 22 games did they score less than 20 points.

Averaged a hair under 28 points a game. He averaged close to 270 yards a game. 49 total TDs from Rodgers.

So yeah, basically the exact opposite of underwhelming lol.

We're going to get destroyed by good offenses.

We want to play man with guys who either aren't good at man, or have lost a step. Hoping the pass rush gets there. The top 5-6 teams will boatrace us again.

They didn't show up for sure, but the offense could have carried us tonight with a little more TOP. That was definitely a winnable game even with our defense fucking up left and right.

Now instead the Bungs have hope, And we ceded ground in a weak division going into a tough mini stretch.

Losing a short week game on the road to a desperate division rival isn’t that bad

But …. A few things we saw are the problem and IMO are not going to be fixed or change

1. Cam and watt borderline dogging it … watch the game replay … Cam was awful and often looked like an effort problem or out of shape to me. Either there is something wrong with watt or he simply doesnt give a shit
2. DBs cannot stack up vs good WRs. Ramsey played ok and is a pro with a lot of savvy … slay was useless, safeties poor and porter just a guy prone to grabbing.
3. Tomlin is so fucking predictable …

The D is NOT going to get better and that means Tomlin will protect it. He will blame this game on INTs and run D and they will become slower and ore conservative in coming games.

Thank god our D has the talent and schematic to be historic …

Exactly what I texted my nephew. ESPN claiming that the Bengals are back in it. There's a reason Flacco was benched in Cleveland.

This game was more about the Steelers defense being horrid than Flacco being resurrected. Scott Van Pelt even used the words vaunted defense.

The Steelers history skews all of these people on TV.

On twitter;

Flacco’s time to throw/release tonight was 2.26 seconds. Insanely quick.

I understand the Bengals WRs are top tier, maybe best tandem in the league. But you have to press them to disrupt the timing to get Flacco flustered. Steelers had the chance to do this last season against Flacco and he still carved them up in Indy.

Literally the SAME EXACT SHIT.

Wow is Tomlin stupid. Him and Austin are two idiots in a pod.

Yes if you put Slay or JPJ on Higgins/Chase’s hip all game they are still going to get their yards. But to the tune of 23 targets and 16 receptions including MULTIPLE free releases where Chase is running wide fucking open with the game on the line?

I just don’t know anymore, man. Tomlin is literally covering for probably the worst DC in the league, and the worst DC in the league is the fall guy for the HC who actually calls this shitty defense!

You never see Joe happy on the sidelines. He was grinning like an idiot afterwards, probably the happiest he’s been in30 years.

Might be the worst most pathetic loss Ive ever seen.

But Cam says he's mad about how the D-line played:

https://steelersdepot.com/2025/10/they- ... o-its-job/

Maybe he could have stepped up and done something about it.

At this point it's clear Tomlin fears Flacco. Last year against the Colts, he told the D to keep Richardson in the game to avoid Joe. They didn't, and the Steelers lost. This week he whines about the Browns trading Joe, then proceeds to get embarrassed by Joe.
