No way he is fired or rock bottom. 9-8 wins this division. I said that Thursday night. Ravens will be the team that collapses. Something is off there

You want him fired they need to lose to Miami on Monday night football. Tomlin never lost at home on mnf That would make statement.

NHALS is already penciled in for the bust in Canton.

Figure a split with MIA/DET. A split with BAL. +CLE = 9-8 baby!!!!

I agree with you that the NHALS could possibly continue but once again it’s in grave danger.

The problem for Tomlin though, is that 9-8 will not be enough to save him. The fanbase is finally tired of being 1 game over .500 being “the standard.”

Tomlin’s best move, after this season, would be to head into the broadcast booth.

He’s toast, NHALS or not.

I wasn't here before '72... but I suffered through the 80s. The futility I'm seeing this season edges that futility out. Ben leaving was like Bradshaw leaving... We're on that same stupid carousel and it's going to take a new coach and a new QB to right this ship.

I hope the team starts brawling on the sidelines, just to make it even more authentically rock bottom.

Where do we go, where do we go
Where do we go from here

You’ve got to be fucking kidding me. Why would anyone want this team to make the playoffs? They’re a miserable leaderless mess that can’t run or pass or stop the run or the pass. If the rest of the division implodes and they back into the playoffs, they will get embarrassed and outcoached as they always do. All that does is equal worse draft positioning and more likelihood Rooney keeps the charade with Tomlin going.

There is literally nothing good that can come from making the playoffs. Absolutely nothing! They have a 0.0% chance of winning the AFC or Super Bowl and about the same chance of winning a single playoff game. Why talk about playoff chances or root for them to make it?

Why have them go to the playoffs and repeat the same movie

Do you even watch the games? The franchise needs torn down from top to bottom immediately. I could care less about a meaningless round 1 playoff loss. I’d rather see them bottom out and finally begin to rebuild which they should’ve done the second Ben retired. Instead they did the opposite and started spending money on free agents and bringing in veteran QBs trying to piece together relevance. It’s horseshit and an awful product to watch. 99% of the fan base get that, then there’s you.

Admitting you are the problem is half the battle

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/mike ... the-bills/
While it didn't include many good plays by the Steelers, the second half of Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills did include some jeers from Pittsburgh's frustrated fan base.

After leading 7-3 at halftime, the Steelers were utterly dominated in the second half, being outscored 23-0 en route to a 26-7 beatdown. During that sequence, fans not only booed during the playing of "Renegade," they chanted "Fire Tomlin!" loud enough for Mike Tomlin to be asked about it afterward.

"I share their frustration tonight," Tomlin said. "We didn't do enough. That's just the reality of it."

This shitfest is all on Rooney.

After coming out of his closet with a rare critical critique of the team, citing lack of postseason success, dumbass goes and extends him for 3 years immediately after that. Made zero sense to do so then. Doubly so now.

I don’t know about Tomlin in the broadcast booth. He’s done well for himself with vague generalities, phrases and snippets. Can he analyse and discuss for an extended period with actual professionals? I honestly don’t know. I might see him as more of a sidekick that interjects amusing comments. Not sure if that’s a viable path in modern broadcasting.

Gotta strongly disagree with you on this one, Swiss and I strongly respect your fandom.

Sure, it's possible Tomlin gets this team to 9-8. The remaining schedule only includes one guaranteed loss (the Lions.)

....but folks don't care about NHALS anymore. There are no Tomlin defenders left. IF (and now this has become a very big if) the Steelers somehow luck themselves into a Wild Card playoff game, they're gonna get killed. You know it and I know it. They can't stop the run and Arthur Smith's offense has me wishing for the days of Matt Canada. I never thought I'd ever write those words but it's true.

9-8, which is now probably less than a 50% proposition, ain't saving Mike Tomlin. He will be booed relentlessly at home from now on, win or lose. It's over. There will be no postseason run and while making the postseason is possible, I sure wouldn't call it likely.

Like you, I would never root for losses but it doesn't matter anymore if you and I don't root for losses. The losses are going to keep piling up with Mike Tomlin in charge. His caveman style of football has finally bottomed out. It's been figured out. This is a bad football team and it starts at the top.

Tomlin isn't stupid though. I think he will head on out the door before it gets even uglier.....and it will.

Looking forward to updated playoff scenarios for our beloved Steelers

We must have someone on this board still holding out hope we can get an extra game in January, only to be throttled and embarrassed by the opponent.

Need to know how we can win the Norf after the Ravens shove the ball up our defense’s ass (O/U rushing yards for Henry 175)

And

W/C possibilities for a team finishing 7-10, 8-9
