The other trade no one talks about

Post by CKSteeler » Sat Dec 06, 2025 5:16 pm

Minkah for Jonnu and Ramsey. I despite PFF, but they currently have Fitzpatrick as the second best safety in the league allowing a passer rating of just 77 when teams throw his way and allowing just one TD. We just don't have great stats for DB's besides interceptions to go on so he's at least solid for them it seems.

He's also younger than Ramsey.

I'm not going to pretend that he'd be some major difference maker for the Steelers, but we never got a definitive answer as to why he was traded from the always diligent Pittsburgh media. Former DT Breiden Fehoko shed some light on the subject and you can take a wild guess as to what he's saying.

1. He got heated with Teryl Austin when he was going to call something stupid at the end of a game while hurt in 20202. Tomlin had to a call a TO to settle things down and they went with Fitzpatrick's play call which resulted in an interception to seal the win. Tomlin, though, was reportedly unhappy with what was said to his lackey during that exchange.
2. Tomlin did not like Minkah saying that the defense was filled with lazy entitled assholes who thought they could just show up and make plays because they were wearing the black and gold and playing for Mediocre Mike.
3. And yea, the contract versus production stuff was probably a factor.

That's how this is at least perceived by someone who was in the locker room. Minkah hurt Coach Teflon's feelings and embarrassed him publicly by saying his team was unaccountable. Bitch had to go.

They essentially traded him for a washed CB who they had to transition to safety to hide that fact and also because their current safeties sucked badly. So the move was basically just reshuffling furniture at the end of the day. They've gotten no value or even negative value out of Jonnu.

All of a sudden I’m a Minkah fan again.

This organization is a complete fucking mess.

Thanks, Tomlin!

Minkah and Najee won natties with the great Nick Saban

Not surprising both quickly determined Tomlin is a big ol fraud

"just show up and play"

That about sums up our coaching/schemes. Why would the players be any different?

It’s really really crazy since Coach T got here, he has never elevated his skills or worked on improvement.

He just bullshits through everything.

Twenty fuckin years.

Minkah is another ex-Steeler who will come out and share what he truly thinks of Mediocre Mike when this hits critical mass. Najee is also going to spout off.

I want to hear from every lineman who was played out of position by this idiot. I want to hear from Spillane. I’d love to hear from Pickens and Johnson.

I also want to hear from Trubisky, Pickett and Rudolph and what they were all told by mediocre Mike. He clearly lied to all of them. I think there was some real ugly crap that went down during the Fields/Wilson off-season that included Pumpkin-Head Heyward pushing for Wilson to be signed so he’d have a shot to bolster his Canton resume with a playoff win or two. Sorry Cam... you suck ass and your post season record and performances stand out like turds in a punch bowl.

Finally, I want to hear from Colbert, and get what really happened when Colbert “retired”.

Retired players are grumbling. Ex-Steelers who are still in the league have been biting their tongues, but this will all come out. I just hope it all comes out before this clown is eligible for Canton. The dysfunction is off the charts. Bradshaw is somewhere smiling like a butcher’s dog.

Outside of Heyward and Watt (who both got their brothers a roster spot and some nice, fat, undeserved paychecks along the way), I don’t think there are too many players who respect Mike Tomlin’s coaching acumen.

Anyone who has talent, especially on offense, wants out. Anyone who wants to win in the postseason wants out too.

Tomorrow, I am the world’s biggest Ravens fan.

After the trade was made official a Dolphins fan good friend of mine called me up.

/sarc/.Said, you forgot #10. I was confused and once he repeated the Steelers forgot #10 (Hill).

He wanted them all gone. Said, Smith was garbage and Ramsey was hot ass and although he’s not a Fitz fan he gladly takes him over them both.

I laughed it off and was fairly confident he was just expressing sour grapes. I. Was. Wrong.

(Glad we didn’t take Tyreek.)

Would love to hear from Kevin Dotson and his 42 starts since he was traded away, most likely all at RG with Rams. Love to hear him explain the difference between the Rams offensive philosophy, play design, scheme, sets, play call, rhythm and execution.... and how he can reflect on how the Steelers offense was most likely caveman sketches using bone fragments as chalk

Would love to hear some ex players talk about the Steelers coaching atmosphere; oTAs, mini camp, training camp, film rooms, study requirements, etc... and how that compares to other franchises

Sorry if I hurt your feelings Swiss. I’m not supporting this product any longer until they make massive changes. That starts with Tomlin and the coaching staff… that’s the minimum they need to do. They should also fire Omar into the sun and force Art the Lessor to step aside too, but one step at a time.

I can’t understand this blind devotion you have and your “I surrender” mentality. If this was WWII, you are France. Roll over, take it up the ass, and cry “but we know we can’t stop the Germans anyway, so why fight them? Just surrender and enjoy our occupation!”

If everyone continued to think like you, no “Fire Tomlin” chant is heard last week at Acrisure. The local and national media are not talking about it. This boulder will only start to pick up momentum when it is finally pushed far enough to get gravity to take over. Thank God there are people willing to push, while passive simps like you just sit there and take it because it’s easier that way. You can silently support Tomlin and this God awful organization while claiming you don’t, all for the “greater good.” Yeah, we know… the ever popular Swiss line (paraphrased of course) -> “Show me where I’ve supported Tomlin! I just know he’s not going to ever get fired so why worry about it? Let’s go Steelers! You suck if you don’t root for them like I do! You are not a real fan!”

Fuck that. We all have put a massive amount of time, energy and money into this team over our lifetimes and we have a right - and at this point I’d say an obligation - to push for change.

This is also bigger than wins or losses. This team is unlikeable. The players reflect the coach and the culture he has created over his 19 year reign. I genuinely don’t like the long-time Steeler “leaders” like Heyward and Watt, and don’t feel sorry for them that they’ve never had playoff success. That’s a direct reflection of their loser mentality, their mediocre coach and the mediocre standard that he’s built. All three have been financially rewarded for their mediocrity and their go-along-to-get-along attitudes. Anyone who gets frustrated and says anything, like Minkah, Najee, Pickens, Dionte or even Chucks? OUT YOU GO. Kiss Mikey T’s ass and praise the program? You have a roster spot for as long as he can justify it and maybe get your brother a spot too.

I want to see this team win Super Bowls again. I want to care again. That doesn’t happen unless/until Coach Dunning-Kruger and his band of Merry Morons is gone. If that means I have to root for losses to make that happen, so be it. Every loss gets us closer to that goal. Every win moves us further away. Each win also emboldens the passive, psychologically broken fan who now believes Tomlin’s goal of NHALS is a wet dream and that ownership could never be pressured by outside noise to remove a coach, even if recent history (Canada) disproves this completely. The Rooneys aren’t deaf. They also aren’t stupid. They know the louder this gets, the more embarrassing it will become for them. And once people really start digging into Tomlin’s history, Tomlin’s continued employment will become indefensible. Just wait until someone on the national level finds Dino’s Instagram….

IT TAKES ALL OF US.

It’s time to get louder.

No hurt feelings, Shade. And yeah, I've wanted Tomlin gone as long as anyone. I also realize that my chanting "fire Tomlin" or posting shit on message boards isn't going to make a damn bit of difference. And you really think you're going to force out the majority owner? Get fuckin real. Tomlin will be back coaching this team next year, and if they need to pick up his option, they will.

Meanwhile, yeah, I'm going to root for my team to win, not root for those purple bitches from Baltimore.

When Jibba wins we all lose. I'm hoping our defense shows itself to be the soft butter to Baltimore's hot knife like they did in the playoffs last year.

Maybe we get lucky and they pound our sorry defense for 250+ rushing yards today while the bug-eyed fuck looks into space with no answers while his yes man "leader" Scam Heyward cries that he has another tummy boo boo.

Success calms the chatter against Tomlin. Continued failure keeps his sorry ass negatively in the spotlight
Jibba Jabber’s offense hasn’t scored more than 7 1st quarter points in 88 consecutive games. An NFL record by far. A historic amount of “easin in”. We are lucky to have him.

I can’t bring myself to root for losses.

I am however trying to live with a loss and feeling like “oh well, at least it gets us closer to having Fraudlin gone.”

Easier said than done since I fucking hate losing at anything. An effort is being put forth on my part to try and give less of a shit since we won’t do jack shit until this guy is gone. I pray it’s sooner rather than later but Rooney needs to go as well or it’s likely the same bullshit, rinse and repeat.

Loved the media and pundits piling on the “time for Tomlin to go train.”

Been safer than the pope for sure but I no longer see that as a matter of fact any longer. The naysayers in the media could help force the hand. I’m here for all of it.
