Wild Card: Texans at Steelers Game Comments & WTF

Post by bradshaw2ben » Mon Jan 12, 2026 2:08 pm

Another one of those "Haven't lost at home on MNF since 1991" vs "0-6 in the last 10 years of playoff games" kind of matchups.

Tune in to find out.

Can they break the streak of...

ZERO 1st Q playoff points (vs. 73) in the last 6 straight losses.

and

The close to 100 straight games without the offense scoring more than 7 in the 1st.
Finally retired: 31DEC25

He finally quit: 13JAN26

Would of been in the house for tonight's game... but Whirlwind weeks and a half or so.
New Years.
Then my son got married on the 2nd.
My father took I'll and fell on Teusday...
Hit head, ribs, hip and knees...
9 hours in ER thru the night...
Turned out the flue and double pneumonia were the real culprit.
Now wait8ng for transport from hospital to rehab..
Sold tickets Saturday..
.
May be watching game on my phone.

Good thing we got that 3rd for Pickens. We've obviously just been killing it in that round lately.

So, this game has two paths-

The Tomlin Yesmen ease in to the game, as per SOP, and are down by 3 scores at half time

or

Someone wakes the dumbfuck up, and they actually scheme to the opponent, and try to win, from the start

I have no faith that dopey the owl will recognize the need to start with a plan, that doesn't entail waiting until halftime to make adjustments, so

History says... they go down by 17 points to start the game- try to claw back in the second half, and end up losing by 10 points.

IF dopey the owl clues in, I suppose there is a chance they win, BUT it involves a whole bunch of IFs

Sorry to hear that Stosh. I wish your father a speedy recovery.

Apparently the flu this year is the worst in something like 25 years. My co-worker can't even get out of bed. People in my neighborhood were saying they were puking for a few days. I hope it skips me this year.

Hoping it's Fiesty Rodgers earlier than later .
Break tendencies vs this defense.
Go no huddle here or there..
Go quick snap at times.
Go hard count early in game.
Middle of field.
Max protect and try a deep shot to DK or Austin.

Hoping for pass rush to get some real pressure, and the LBs and safeties can cover decently enough if JPJ can minimize Collins. Payton Wilson in coverage needs to step up tonight.

That's too bad.
Biggest battle is getting up and moving and not succumbing to the ease of staying in bed and laying down.

Be nice to see Highsmith. Watt and herbig get in Strouds face and head.
The DLine had been coming on and the start8ng 3 are probably playing their best at the right time.
This could be a low scoring game from both sides.
20-17

Oof. Sorry, friend-- that's tough. Even tougher: if they win tonight, you may never be allowed to go to another Steelers playoff game ;)
