Rodgers' laughable defense of Tomlin

Post by CKSteeler » Tue Jan 13, 2026 9:38 am

According to him, when he was drafted a coach with Tomlin's resume would never be fired. Same with LeFleur. Says a lot about society today blah blah blah...

Just a reminder that when he was drafted, Marty Schottenheimer was fired like a year later for coming up short with a very talented roster for a franchise he rebuilt from the ground up. Fuck off, Aaron. Same boat as Cam to me. I don't care how great Mike's handies are. Get the fuck lost you overrated choker.

Saw that. Yeah, coaches were getting fired left and right 21 years ago. 31 years ago. Not sure what he was smoking there.

Kind of bizarre to go to bat for Tomlin like that. I suppose Rodgers was asked directly, but it's sort of like he's kissing ass hoping for an extension or something.

If Tomlin gets an extension Rodgers comes back, if not i think he retires. Hoping for both to be gone. Steelers need to clean house, and start a proper teardown/rebuild

I think Rodgers is trying his best to stay under the radar. His rep has taken hits over the years, especially with the vax controversy, so he has no interest in criticizing the league’s iconic black coach.

Tomlin has become a joke, but a controversial white QB on his way to retirement and Canton isn’t the guy to carry the Tomlin criticism banner. Especially for a franchise he has been with for less than a year.

I don’t blame Rodgers. He’s not responsible for this mess, and he can’t be expected to fix it.

I don't think Rodgers comes back whether Tomlin remains in Pittsburgh or not.

Rodgers might like Tomlin, but he's smart enough to know this team isn't winning anything anytime soon.

If Rodgers returns (and I don't think he will) I agree with the talking heads who are predicting Rodgers will wait until midseason when a really good team that are in contention to go to a Super Bowl, loses their QB for an extended period or for the entire season.

Much like what Philip Rivers did in Indy.

Rodgers will never, ever play for the Steelers again.

A proper rebuild is not in Arts wheelhouse.

He wants stability and dollars pouring in, easily.

He has no idea that a rebuild would sell tickets.

All conjecture, but he seems like a jagoff.
"I'm institutionalized, man," he joked. "I gotta have it. I just love the challenges week in and week out that this job provides: the growth in it, the collective growth, the individual growth."

Rodgers still has a good arm and moves reasonably well.

But he needs a real offense - and good pass pro - to succeed. That's not PIT.

His rep took a hit for being correct while all the so called experts were wrong or lying?

Not by me.

But you know the same group of people who knee-jerk call anyone who criticizes Tomlin a racist also think Rodgers is a conspiracy peddling loon as they roll up their sleeves for another booster.

There are a lot of people out there who hate Rodgers, and the vax issue is one of the reasons cited.
