Mike Tomlin finally speaks
Re: Mike Tomlin finally speaks
What if they assign him to every Steeler game.
That would be hilarious.
Painful but hilarious.

"I'm institutionalized, man," he joked. "I gotta have it. I just love the challenges week in and week out that this job provides: the growth in it, the collective growth, the individual growth."
That’s why they make mute buttons!
My guess is I don’t think Tomlin is gonna be calling games. I’m pretty sure they are gonna put him in the studio where everyone can marvel at his wordsmithing greatness!
I thought that was a given. Did people actually think he was going to be a color analyst?
Tomlin is made for that studio job yucking it up with the other clowns. Like I said, he'll wonder why he didn't make that move 10 years ago.
Tomlin is a canned machine - his statements are prepared and IMO his cliches are pre-planned.
he is decent, in a comfortable environment, at grab-assing and shouting out random crap
I think in open discussion he is actually awkward and I think he will struggle in the TV Studio
he isnt a clown like Gronk or some others
and I dont think he will be good at inane banter like some in the studio
or clear analysis

He's the next John Madden.
He will be the biggest booth fail since Bill Walsh.
Or maybe Dennis Miller.

Buckeye legend Cardale Jones certainly didn't enjoy his brief time in Tomlin's presence. Every word of his description of the encounter sounds true, too.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

Tomlin can only wish in his dreams that he had 1/10th the gift of gab and wit that Dennis Miller has.
I remember when Miller did the HOF game in Canton.
He commented that ironically, the Szechuan was better in town.
It went above the audience, something Tomlin is incapable of.
Dennis Miller didn't work out for that audience but he is pretty much the opposite of canned and boring.

The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently.

Dino makes the news again with his off the cuff twitter posting

Dino spoke bluntly about why he avoids the sidelines. He used a comparison to another famous coach to explain his lack of professional interest. He stated, “If I was coaching, I be just like Lane Kiffin: I’d be lying to players, I’d be Fcking co-eds, I’d be F**king all.” This honest moment showed he does not want the responsibility of leadership.

Revealing take from Dulac's chat.
He was asked if there was any news from the NFL meetings. His answer was on the order of "yes, first time in 19 years the Steelers head coach was on time for the AFC coaches breakfast"
