OUR Division:
Some heavy hitters here with Perch, Corey, B2B, and yes you, TB.
Let’s start with Perch and his (shit) Stains:
Grade= A-bove the line (if you will)
• Penn State homerism worked in Perch’s favor with Abdul Carter (nice outfit lol) the Browns’ likely choice if they stay put at 2. I may be the only Shedeur Sanders fan on the board, but even I don’t think he is worthy of being a top 5 pick.
• More shocked I could not be to see Perch deviate from the Power 5 (4) and draft the Utah State fella. So shocked was I, that I promptly texted B2B to ask if Perch was feeling ok. Good pick in a poor WR class.
• “Nickel Back” comment when selecting mega plodding DT Yahya Black made me chuckle. Wit on a stick is Mr. Perch.
• Kind of a boring draft this year in that nobody poached me, but RB Jarquez Hunter a guy I (Stupidly) passed on only to have Perch snag him immediately after I went in another direction. Kid can play.
Corey and Fractal’s Bengals
Grade= A-ngelic
• Let me start by saying I’ve been doing this draft exercise for like what 20 years? Posters come and posters go. FC, IC, and now Fractal are just a few draft warlords that I miss being a part of the board mock action. Fractal, if you’re no longer with us…RIP.
• This Corey fella an admirable fill in for my guy Fractal. Kid knows his stuff. The only pick of his I didn’t like was taking scUM’s Will Johnson. Kid can’t stay healthy enough to even run a 40.
• National Champ Donovan Jackson a steal mid rd 2. Versatility on a stick and protects Glass Joe.
• DT Jay Toia in rd 5 was a who? Kinda pick for me, but I love when I google and curse myself for not having a viable prospect on my big board.
• Like Jarquez Hunter, I passed on DJ Giddens one too many times. I still say the quality in this RB class doesn’t match the 2017 crew of CMC, Kamara, Cook etc but it is just as deep.
B2B’s Beloved Steelers
Grade= B+ravo
• Admittedly, I was a little annoyed by the Broderick Jones fleecing. Hell no Jimmy Johnson shouldn’t apologize for robbing the Vikings in the Herschel Walker trade, but I prefer the board mock trades to lean toward the realistic. The degenerates in my Boats ‘N Hoes fantasy football league (also an exercise in fictional football) would’ve vetoed that deal with the quickness. Carolina, while not the brightest organization, has holes much bigger than OL. They’re not dumping early 2nd rounder on mega-bust Broderick Jones. A day 3 pick? Meh. With a chaser I could swallow it.
• Membou was under serious consideration by my 49ers at pick 11 so going at pick #23 represents tremendous value,
• Following that pick with Stud Cock TJ Sanders shows the depth of the DT class but…
• …that pick doesn’t happen without another questionable trade. Yes, Pickens could very well net a 2nd (I doubt it) but an uber-conservative organization like the Packers would be one of the last teams I’d expect to deal for Crazy George. Good trade for both fictional GM’s however.
• This is why we come here. B2B’s Cam crush most likely led him to OT Esa Pole. Who? Exactly. Couldn’t find him on Zierlein’s list, Draft Buzz, or CBS so does that mean he won’t get even get drafted? No. It means I/We/You learned about a prospect most of us knew nothing about prior to this exercise.
• Damien Martinez- If the Steelers wait until day 3 to address their gaping hole at RB, this name should be near the top of your wish list.
• A big thanks to B2B for running the show as always. Smooth operation.
TB quotes the Raven
Grade = B+altimorons
• For claiming to not know much about this draft class, TB had his usual solid haul with his top 3 picks sure to be instant impact players.
• “Rat” otherwise known as UGA's Tate Ratledge, is quite the character. Hopefully, he and fellow TB draftee Ben Yorosek don’t crash their cars into an apartment complex before draft night. What in the ever loving fuck, Kirby? Get your program in order man.
• The Ravens are hoping the 4 lane highway the Steelers leave open for Derrick Henry also applies to TB’s 5th rd pick, Jaydon Blue, the speedster out of Texas.
Overall, a High quality effort by the fictional GM's of the AFC Norf
Drama, I've always been a fan of your draft write ups but this year especially you have really been killing it. Just fantastic stuff dude that I love to read.
