Is that the game where JUJU got absolutely destroyed over the middle after filming multiple pre-game TikToks at midfield?Pabst wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 5:00 pmrooneytunes wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 4:43 pmRookie Dorian Thompson Robinson or whatever his name is getting 2nd start as a rookie.
Good lord NHALS. Can you please not fuck around and have this be some 4th quarter death match? Fucking demolish them.
Yeah...it's typically not a matter of "making a rookie QB look like an all pro" so much as it is the Offense either fucking up or being so conservative it would make Bob Dole blush.
The perfect example is the Bengals game vs Ryan Finley in 2020. Here's every Steelers drive in the first half of that game:
- 3 & Out, Punt
- 3 & Out, Punt
- 1 play, Fumble
- 3 & Out, Punt
- 3 plays, Fumble
- 10 plays to go 17 yards (seriously), Interception
- 3 & Out, Punt
- 3 & Out, Punt
The Steelers had 30 total yards and 3 turnovers on 8 drives in the first half of that game. Cincy could have trotted out a HS QB in that game and it wouldn't have mattered.

You are correct Dan….I just referenced anatomical charts, and the only way to massage that, Watson will have to have a multi-finger or fist insertion into the rectum and a tickle of the prostate. His deep tissue massage sessions should have that covered.Dan Smith--BYU wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 4:10 pmThis type of shoulder injury is often associated with muscle tension in the contralateral ball sack.
Hopefully, ball sack was not a Siri correction for bursa sac.

I see what you did there with rub!
I think it's hilarious that you think there is a possibility if this NOT being a 4th quarter death match.rooneytunes wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 4:43 pmRookie Dorian Thompson Robinson or whatever his name is getting 2nd start as a rookie.

Over the last 3 seasons, the Steelers have won just 3 games by more than 1 score:
2021 - Week 17 Steelers 26, Browns 14 (Najee 37 yard TD with 51 seconds left to extend to 2 score game)
2022 - Week 10 Steelers 20, Saints 10 (Pickett 1 yard run with 8:38 left to extend to 2 score game)
2022 - Week 17 Steelers 28, Browns 14 (Watt 1 yard run with 4:37 left to extend to a 2 score game)
It's a near certainty that this will be a 4th quarter death match. Unless the Browns blow them out, of course.
Note: There could be some games where the other team scored late to close to within 1 score. I am too lazy to find them.

Barring a major melt down by said rookie, the Browns will almost certainly be in the lead at some point.
There's only one of those - Carolina last year. The Panthers kicked a 50 yard FG with 20 seconds left to pull within 8. They'd have needed to recover the onside kick then convert a Hail Mary plus a 2 pointer to tie.

I’ll give credit where it is due…sort of.
Turns out that rookie QB for the Texans is pretty damn good. He’s played better than practically every QB in the league this year. Demeco Ryans is a fantastic coach. Do I think the Steelers led by our bonehead HC underestimated the Texans when we went down there? Yes, probably. That and the Niners game were equally as terrible IMO. But the Texans are a game out of first place and look very, very good.
DTR is no Stroud. That we know. But the offense has to pick it up this week. Watson had been playing better so them going with their 3rd stringer Sunday is a massive opportunity for the Steelers to somehow get to 7-3 heading into Thanksgiving.
I’m glad there is this pressure on Kenny. He needs pressure. It’s sink or swim time broham.

Browns are starting a QB that can't stop turning the ball over vs a team that can only win if it gets turnovers.Smashmouth21 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 4:32 pmDTR looked awful against the Ravens. DTR in college and the NFL is averaging over a turnover per game. His breakout year in college, he averaged nearly 2 turnovers per game.
4 turnovers in his only NFL start.

It's even worst than that - In 2025 they already have $283m committed against the cap....and that's before counting extensions/replacements for Chubb, Cooper, Jedrick Willis, JOK, Za'Darius Smith, and Greg Newsome.
Cleveland has gone the Saints route of kicking so much dead money down the road that they are absolutely fucked in the future.
Ravens also recorded 4 sacks and 12 QB pressures in that game. Worth pointing out as Dawand Jones (who missed Sunday's game) missed practice again today, and Wyatt Teller is banged up as well.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 6:03 pmDTR in college and the NFL is averaging over a turnover per game. The Browns could very well be starting Geron Christian and James Hudson at Tackle.

Conversely, the last time James Hudson started against the Steelers they recorded 8 sacks

That’s also Demeco Ryans and their OC (who is excellent) running circles around our coaches who are not good, probably bottom 3rd in the league.gojira5150 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 6:57 pmThe Texans had a bunch of O-Linemen out and how'd that turn out for our DPabst wrote: ↑Wed Nov 15, 2023 6:33 pmRavens also recorded 4 sacks and 12 QB pressures in that game. All told, the latest shoulder injury means Watson will have missed 39 games over the past three seasons. He is still under contract for three more seasons with $138 million left on his deal.
Watson completed 61.4% of his passes this season for 1,115 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions. Despite Sunday's performance in Baltimore, he ranks 23rd in the NFL with a QBR of 44.7.

I got curious, so I went and checked. 2023 - None
2022 - Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen
2021 - Patrick Mahomes (twice), Justin Herbert, Joe Burrow
2020 - Baker Mayfield (playoff game)
You have to go back to Bryan Hoyer in 2019 for the last time a bad/backup QB had a 3 TD performance, let alone 4 (FWIW he only had 168 yards, threw a pick six, was sacked 5 times and lost a fumble).
Like i said earlier, the problem the Steelers have had against these teams is that they go into turtle mode in the first quarter. The idea that scrub QB's routinely gash the Steelers D doesn't hold up to scrutiny.
Should have googled first....Steelersdepot had an article about this prior to the Texans game.
Since 2013, the Steelers are 13-3 vs Rookie QBs. The losses have come against Wentz & Prescott (both in 2016) and this season vs Stroud.
