I'm hopeful of 2-0 after next weeks trip to denver
I’d actually say I expect to beat that team rather than hoping.

I hope we can beat a team with a top tier QB.

I expect the highest paid D to feast on a rookie making his second start.

Can our offense get into the EZ??

After the game, I went to the gameday thread to bitch about something. But first, I read the last page. Just other people bitching. I read the page before that. Bitching about a win. I went back through about 5 pages of negative comments. Then I decided that I wasn't going to contribute to the bitching about a win festival. I didn't say anything at all on that thread.

I should have thought of something positive to say. How about our kicker? Wow! Attempts from 57, 51, 44, 56, 40, 25. Every one of them good. TJ! 2 strip sacks taken away by penalty. I fumble recovery that counted. He blew up a run play big-time. At the end of the game, Atlanta still technically had a chance to win, and he finally got his sack that counted, and that kept the clock running out to wrap it up.

Loved the win and loved the way we did it. With you on this one, all the way, Swiss. Let's GO!

A lot of players/positions looked good to excellent. IDL/edge/CB/S all very good, LB Wilson promising.

On O, Frazier looked pretty good, Pickens is great, Darnell nigh elite on the blocking side of things.

Overall, pretty encouraging if you would be happy to win 10 games.

And two clear examples of why the are nowhere near a SB contender.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

I just never want to see Broderick Jones on a football field again unless there's a major injury.

Talk about talking the goddamn wind out of the sails of the entire team.

After Jones fucked up that drive that could have been the final nail in Denver's coffin, Tomlin went into full on turtle mode.

An entire second half of turtle mode.

So fucking sick of Cool Shades.

A defense that only gives up 8 points per game is above the line, if you will.

And what happens when we no longer play JV level offenses and need to graduate to Varsity? This team is gonna need more than an average of <checks notes> 15.5 points per game.

And they are gonna need to achieve that without the defense gifting them multiple turnovers

The offense needs to improve, but the team intentionally shut down what was working well in the first half. A two score lead for Mike Tomlin causes much anxiety for him. It’s like he has a clause about getting fired if he wins by 3 scores. I’m looking forward to playing a high scoring team to see our own offense open up.

Next week vs the Chargers. Herbert very likely misses with a high ankle sprain. A Harbaugh coached team with no QB vs. Tomlin coached team is going to set football back 100 years. 9-6 Steelers win with under 30 combined pass attempts in the game by both teams.

For the last 4:20 of the 3rd and all 15:00 of the 4th the Steelers offense did not touch even mid field on several attempts

That is completely unacceptable

A win against a tomato can is not a win against the Chiefs or 49ers.

This kind of effort is roughly Georgia vs. Kentucky on Saturday.

This type of win is the preference of the HC. He's on record saying as much.

Regardless of who is at QB, this team, and overrated D, will get exposed by competent teams, with competent coaches.

This team is getting high praise in the media, even local pundits like DK are super ecstatic over these last two wins and overhyping this team.

Yes. Some wins mean more than others. Some losses mean more than others. It's part of sports 101.

About losing...

The idea that losing is always the worst thing in sports is total nonsense on multiple levels and should not require an explanation.

On another note...

I love great defense, a scoring defense. Chose my username based on defense.

I also love great offense.

League MVP at QB
QB league leader in TD throws
#1 scoring offense
Average over 30ppg in back to back Lombardi winning post seasons

We actually had all the above on offense while winning Lombardis. And yes, great offense significantly increases your chances of capturing the Lombardi (duh).

All these years, I've been looking for a repeat of the above.
Thought we might see it at some point with Ben. Wrong HC for that to happen.

Seems a significant portion of the fan base doesn't care about having a great offense which is mind numbing.
Throw. The. Football. On. First. Down.

Imagine this defense with the offense of 2014
