Your analysis is hard to argue with, TB. But I'm rooting for the Steelers to win anyway. Know why?

They win, and I get to see them play another week, another week of waking up with excitement on game day morning.
Right on. Bottom line, might as well Believe, because it is much more entertaining that way.

I'm just gonna have to disagree with the premise.

No one on here thought they would fire Matt Canada in the middle of the season last year. You all have been so damaged and prisoners for so long that you thought they'd let Canada ride out his contract. Tomlin didn't want to fire him, but Art II said enough was enough and forced it to happen.

And no one on here thought there was any chance in hell they would give up on lil ken as soon as they did (for those wondering why I always refer to him lil ken, he isn't good or important enough to deserve having his name capitalized) and just pawn him off for basically like the value of a mid third day pick. But they waited about 10 whole minutes the second they had a chance to move him before pawning him off.

Tomlin isn't coaching here the rest of his life. It's near the end. Whether that is this offseason, or here in the next 2-3 years, it's going to happen.

If the Steelers go out on Sunday and get absolutely embarrassed, there is certainly a hell of a lot better chance they sit down with Tomlin and have a tough conversation about whether he "wants" to be here anymore, while giving him a good shove to seek out other opportunities. And if those conversations don't go well, maybe they do step out of line and make the call to part ways with him.

As far as entertainment goes, I'm just as entertained watching this group get slaughtered and have them self destruct than just more boring ass, ugly, attrition, cowardly football. Russ' entire fake ass personality, GP's crybaby front-running antics where he folds the second he's dealt any adversity, every time we hand the ball to Najee on second and long, Pat P. being unclutch as usual, the arrogance that permeates throughout this organization and team that is certainly unearned, and the gutless style of play... this is such an unlikable group. Makes it a lot easier to root for their downfall and change.

Couple things, TB....

-Matt Canada and Kenny Pickett, in the eyes of the douchebag art II, aren't in the same stratosphere as Mike Tomlin....not a viable comparison at all

-we obv approach our steeler fandom differently...i dont at all enjoy, not even a little, games like the Xmas day debacle.

That description of the players is how exactly half of the league’s fans felt about their favorite guys more than 50% of the time after games this season. 16 teams finished with a losing record, and there were a lot of repeat offenders, like Cleveland, the Raiders, Bears, Carolina.

Since there are very few teams who can consistently dominate year after year, and the margin of victory in the NFL is so razor thin for the majority of games that are played, I am satisfied when Pittsburgh finishes games with more points than its opponent (wins). Fortunately for everyone who is sincerely a fan of the team, the Steelers won more than they lost this season. Thereby allowing the faithful to avoid all of the weekly circus, yea even rage, that happens to teams that lose.

Lamar Jackson looks like he will win MVP, and Derrick Henry is having possibly the best season of his probable Hall of Fame career. This weekend’s game will also be at M&T. That’s ugly.

The above will not stop me Believing for a Steelers performance that leads to a win. One where we see the pass rush dominate, both elements of running and stopping the run be effective and the wide receivers make some spectacular plays.

The proposal for positive change through a collection of successively rotten efforts simply does not make sense. A team is more likely to make the leap from good to great than it is from rotten to great.
