Spillane just got $30 mil over 3 years from NE. Or some shit like that.
Remember when the Steelers couldn't find a place for him on the field and continued to trot out that piece of shit Devin Bush week after week?
Yea...players somehow watched that shit transpire and still have respect for Tomlin. I'll never comprehend it. Bush didn't just suck. He didn't even want to play football. How does a "leader" like Heyward or even Watt stomach something like that?
Raiders of all teams found a better way to use Spillane than defensive guru Mike Tomlin.

Yea we couldn't figure out what to do with Vrabel on the field either...then he went to NE.
This guy is tough. We need more guys who get shot.

To say he's done well for himself as a 7th round pick is a gross understatement.

Additionally, they must have been keeping Tomlin locked in a closet, restrained with duck tape over his mouth from the end of the Metcalf trade till Najee got signed.

I bet Trey Lance is a Steeler by the end of the week. Tomlin loves to collect 1st round bust QBs!

This team is in disarray, once again.
You have two almost identical WRs. One of whom will pout like a child, because the other is getting all of his targets AND money.
You still don't have a QB that can throw to them, and the ones that are available are highly flawed.
Wilson is a person of excellent character, but absolutely cannot make all the throws due to deficiencies.
Rodgers is a fucking jerk, and while he can make the throws, will absolutely not play within the team concept or even participate in the "team".
The just lost their best run stopping LB.
Cut their other run stopping DE. (Admittedly he's not worth the money- but who are you putting in his DE position?)
Anyway- what a joke.

You say that as if its a negative. They're not doing shit with the existing team concept.

Trading for Milton is the route I would go. He's a lottery ticket. If he works out, you go into the next off-season with a ton of cash and loaded with draft picks. Could be a quick fix.
If he doesn't work out, oh well. Didn't give up much to get him and still have the draft capital to get a QB next year.
We all know this is a bridge year, go get the young kid who showed flashes last year vs. the 41 year old that will cost a ton.

Trading for Milton risks NHALs so that's probably out.

Speaking of DK, per Dejan, Steelers have reached out regarding Mason Rudolph. And I'd just chuckled wistfully at Progressive bringing back the Liberty Bibberty guy.

I wouldn't object to trading for Milton, but people are making an awful lot of what amounts to one decent showing in to what was basically a preseason type game.

Yes, but you are not interested in maximizing the possibility that you will win no fewer than nine games.Charles Demarr wrote: ↑Tue Mar 11, 2025 7:34 pmTrading for Milton is the route I would go. It's just a lottery ticket. IF he plays like the guy in week 18, it's a blockbuster deal. If it doesn't, well you tried and now you try something else.
Signing Aaron Rodgers or Russ Wilson might not even result in a playoff team, let alone an actual contender AND it gets you zero percent closer to finding the next guy. It also STRONGLY opens up the possibility of them doing something incredibly stupid like overdrafting an overrated QB in round 1 this year, instead of positioning themselves for an actual strategic selection next year.

I would gladly take Milton and Rudolph, and roll with it
I don’t think that gets you to 9 wins, but whatever
Now, assuming they keep with the same general offensive philosophy, no way does having Metcalf and Pickens on the same team work out.
One or both will start creating a shit storm with 0-3 targets per game
So trade Pickens on draft day - for whatever you can get

What a terrible article. Saunders doesn't even know how the compensatory picks work.
You can't get six comp picks. The max amount of comp picks a team can receive in one year is 4.By letting six free agents walk out the door, Khan has created the potential for a serious draft haul in terms of 2026 compensatory picks. According to Over the Cap, the Steelers are estimated to be eligible to receive a third-round pick for Dan Moore Jr., a fourth rounder for Justin Fields, a fifth or a sixth for Najee Harris, a sixth for James Daniels, a sixth for Donte Jackson and a seventh for Elandon Roberts.
That’s the potential for six additional draft picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. They could get more if Russell Wilson and/or Mike Williams sign elsewhere. Now, the Steelers won’t actually get six extra picks. They already canceled Roberts’ pick by signing Malik Harrison from the Baltimore Ravens.
Saunders is acting if we play our cards right we could get 6 or more extra picks.
It's amazing to me that people can follow the NFL as long as most of us have and do and still have no idea how something like this works.

No, he doesn't say they can't get six picks. He says they won't get six picks because of FAs they will sign, cancelling out picks, like when they signed Harrison.
He totally doesn't understand how it works.
