And fired a good OC in Tom Moore to do it.
Kudos on the El Kabong avatar. 8-) Takes me back to my youth...many, many...many years ago. :?

Seconded. I may have even used that as a login ID on another site at some point. Thought I was the only one that remembered a pretty obscure [and short?] character.

So that actually made me go look him up today and watched a few snippets  And I never knew his sidekick is where Baba Booey got his nickname!!! Apparently, he mispronounced it when discussing his prized animation collection, and the rest of the crew railed on him and that stuck. So apparently El Kabong was much, much bigger than I ever realized.

Ben comes back, Tomlin doesn't = CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Tomlin has had Ben his whole tenure and won only one Superbowl. I'm pretty sure if Cowher had Ben as long, he would have won more than one Superbowl.

That is a pretty bold statement given that Cowher was defeated by the Patriots twice when it counted. In 2004, the Steelers were the top seed and they still could not beat the Patriots. The Steelers did not throw on first down until well into the game in that 2004 AFC Championship. The game plan sucked ass.

Oh look, he was coaching a team in the AFC championship game, unlike Mike who has done such once in the past 10 years.

I seriously doubt Cowher would have beaten the Patriots any more than Tomlin has.
Speculate away but I'm guessing(like you) that Cowher would have had more opportunities against the Patties in the playoffs then Mike has.

No coach can have success without a franchise QB. Belichick failed with the Browns and he was a loser before Brady arrived. Taking Tomlin's accomplishments away because he had Ben is asinine.
What accomplishments? In the past ten years, Tomlin hasn't done squat. One AFC championships game, some 8-8 seasons and last year where they collapsed? Carry on douchebag you lost it on this comment.

I do believe Tomlin will be gone soon, but he will be rehired in an instant. How he fares once he leaves will have a significant impact on how he is perceived by all football fans.
You really think Mike is going to be gone soon? You don't know the Steelers organization.

Sites like this remind me that the average fan is not very intelligent and thinks he knows everything, but he really knows nothing about everything.
Then post elsewhere fuck face

Tomlin will be remembered as one who did not study what skills and strategies make the best coaches successful. He does not place the urgency of getting the W in his gut and on the team. He is happy to be mediocre.

I didnt like cowher either...wrote dueling articles some years ago listing the respective bullshit decisions of both these guys.

Mike Tomlin is more cowher than cowher. He's an unmitigated game day dumbfuck. His greatest gift, as I've oft-said, is an exceedingly well developed line of bullshit. And sometimes it serves him well. Other times, it's seen for what it is...bullshit.
I think you're mad because you and Tomlin share the same greatest gift, but he can pull off a pair of Aviators better.

That said, yeah, he's essentially Cowher, but with the aforementioned BS. In Cowher's defense, his defensive concepts and early schemes and results were pretty innovative at the time from an Xs and Os standpoint.

Tomlin, the Motivator in the Aviators?

A players coach with no accountability.... Captain cliche... a coach who accomplished far less with the talent he had...
Won three playoff games in nine seasons... 2 of which was in one season and even one of those was gifted by the even worse coached Bungles team. Meanwhile, Tomlin lost playoff games to Tim Tebow, David Gerrard and Blake Bortles.

Tomlin will be remembered as Belichick's personal bitch. He'll be remembered for quick stepping out of the way of Jacoby Jones. He'll be remembered for calling the Patriots assholes on Antonio Brown's Facebook Live feed. He'll be remembered for putting a victory in jeopardy just to sustain AB's consecutive games with a reception record. He'll be remembered for keeping Josh Fucking Dobbs in a game while a healthy Ben Roethlisberger stands on the sidelines. I have a ton more things he'll be remembered for, but I'll stop here.

Hell...a lot of coaches will be remembered as Belichick’s personal bitch, but how many will be remembered as Mike Glennon’s personal bitch?

Remembered as a guy whose BS had a 3 year shelf-life. He took a SB ready team and infused them with a fresh message, got them motivated, and won a SB (with the help of two of the greatest plays in superbowl history)

Most likely not to happen but say he wins one more in the next five years and then steps down.

How is he remembered then?

Is the only way to get back into fans good graces to win another? Even then how would he be remembered?

Well that would certainly go a long way to changing how he’s viewed.

But he needs to go out and do it.

The team has gotten progressively worse since it’s become his team.

So not holding my breath on us winning another SB with Capt. Cliche in charge.

I’d love to be wrong.

Far too much evidence “on tape” to the contrary.

I'd like to see him make the playoffs and play competitively first and foremost a few years in a row of making the playoffs and not getting embarrassed when there would go a long way.

I would be absolutely delighted to be wrong about Mike Tomlin. If his team did win another Lombardi, I would take back everything I said about him.

The difference is that at this point most here would agree that Cowher was definitely better than Tomlin.

His civic reputation will be remembered somewhere between Barry Bonds and Henry Frick.

Bill Austin was less damaging because at least Robin DAngelo the elder had the good sense to fire him.

The longer he's overstayed, the more early success credit he's burned through.

So, for me, he's trash.

The obligation for him to maximize the potential of success has been ignored for far too long.
