Not even close actually.
The Steelers MADE the playoffs just last season.
It's that whole WINNING an actual playoff game that's going to set new records.
We're even further away from that record.
Kansas City went 22 years between playoff wins (1993-2015)
Cleveland went 26 years (1994-2020)
(Sorry for hijacking, but thanks again, Tomlin!)
Buffalo went 25 years (1995-2020)
The longest current droughts are:
Miami is sitting at 24 years and counting (last win was 2000 season)
Vegas is at 22 years (last win was the 2002 AFCCG)
Washington is sitting at 18 years (last win 2005)
Someone can double check this, but I believe the Lions win last seasons ended the longest drought of the Super Bowl era (32 years)
To add more salt/context to the above...

Robert Saleh considered firing Jets OC Nathaniel Hackett prior to getting his own pink slip from Woody Johnson
Saleh could have made the move to fire Hackett as early as Tuesday, sources tell CBS Sports
Can't be threatening Aaron Rodger's buddies like that. Out you go!
Very believable. Rodgers is basically the only player in the league that likes or respects Hackett, and that’s because he’s QAaron’s puppet.
If I'm the Jets, I want Hackett because Aaron is an OC on the field at this point in his career. It probably won't work out for them in the end, Aaron is aging and the talent overall has question marks. But I brought Aaron here to be Aaron and to run his offense. The dude has done a lot in this league, was probably at the top of his position for a period of time. I think many have forgotten how talented that guy was. Had Seattle beaten in an NFCCG playing on 1 leg.

The Jets are a long way from being able to consistently field a winning QB
They need a winning culture first
They fucked up firing Saleh IMO

Holy shit they had to escort him out of the building. They REALLY need Mike Tomlin to right that ship!
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/se ... c980&ei=44
New York Jets owner Woody Johnson’s been tolerant – over the last 24 years he’s never once fired a coach mid-season. But that changed earlier today, when Johnson finally fired Robert Saleh, head coach for the Jets since 2021. Speaking of the firing, Woody Johnson said, “This was not an easy decision, but we are not where we should be given our expectations and I believe now is the best time for us to move in a different direction.”
And to pile scandal on top of scandal, Saleh had to be escorted out of the building by team security. That’s less than a peaceful exit, and evidence of just how bad things had gotten inside the team. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers hasn’t spoken out about the issue, but rumors swirl that he is to blame. Apparently tensions were high between the two in the runup to the sacking.
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”

Yeah, I suspect the Lebanese flag has more to do with it than anything else
Of course, it could be Aaron Rogers pushing his weight
That had nothing to do with it. Is Arthur Smith gonna catch flack for the Scottish flag he had on his sideline attire? The league wants players to rep the flags to grow the international pool of money they can sell to.

Mike Tomlin to the Jets. Let's speak it into existence. Someone call Rich Eisen and get him to start salivating over it.
Couple of non-losing seasons would be heaven to them.
So is T_mlin to the Jets gonna be like Cowher to the Chiefs and will it need its own thread? Inquiring minds want to know.

Good lord with the political nonsense here
Saleh was fired because he is a poor and offensively challenge coach …. Hint hint hint Mr Rooney
Someone had a graphic up where the Jets under Saleh have been outscored in the first half by 270ish points in the first half of games, had like 70 more penalties than the opponents, there was another one or two things that were pretty bad as well I just don't recall them all. At least 4 things on the list.

I mean, I don't care your politics. It's pretty apparent that wearing a Lebanese flag could be perceived as a political statement right now where as no one gives a shit about someone sporting a Scottish flag. Unless they're at war or have done anything that could be perceived as offensive of late and I missed it.
Woody Johnson almost certainly does not support Lebanon right now.

I dig McAfee but tonight I will fast forward over the Aaron Rodgers segment where he denies having anything to do with Saleh's firing.

Would he have been fired if he had a Israeli flag patch?
How about they play football.
They can fly any flag they want on their front lawn,
from their car mirror,
on their suit into the stadium.
Come thru the tunnel....
Play football.
It's an NFL League Initiative. Yes, it may or may not be an unnecessary distraction from football, but it's like asking why they wear pink or wear military camo or have prostate cancer check symbols.

Reportedly, Saleh wanted to fire the OC, who is the QB's buddy. The NYJ aren't great but they currently have the NFL's 23rd offense and the 12th defense. So, they fired the defense guy because he wanted to fire the OC.

If A. Rodgers wasn't on the team, how many of you would be blinking an eye if Saleh was fired?
Again, heard Mike Greenberg today say Saleh is a bad HC, Again, as a lifelong passionate Jets fan, I'll bet Greeny is far more immersed in that team than anyone on this board.
Also, reported, the owner was out of the country during the Saleh hire. Also reported, the owner has been thinking about making this move for 2 years.
Panel concensus being the owner was thinking of making this move even before the season started.
Also reported, the owner met with the coaches before their last game and told them this game is a must win. So if the Jets had won, Saleh probably still has the job.
Don't let anything stand in the way of your Aaron Rodgers hate though.
