Stunned thought SF for sure
You quoted the paragraph where he says you can't get 6 picks.
That’s the potential for six additional draft picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. They could get more if Russell Wilson and/or Mike Williams sign elsewhere. Now, the Steelers won’t actually get six extra picks. They already canceled Roberts’ pick by signing Malik Harrison from the Baltimore Ravens.

Basically confirming what Perch said,
he says in the article you can’t get more than 4
. “They will sign other players — and can’t have more than four, anyway.“

RB Kenneth Gainwell: Signing a one-year deal. (Ian Rapoport)
WR DK Metcalf: Acquired in a trade with the Seahawks in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick and a late-round pick swap. Metcalf is signing a four-year, $132 million extension with Pittsburgh (Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport).
TE Donald Parham Jr.: Signed to a one-year contract. (Team)
DL Malik Harrison: Agreed to a two-year, $10 million deal. (Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo)
CB Brandin Echols: Expected to sign with Pittsburgh. (Ian Rapoport)
CB Darius Slay: Signing a one-year, $10 million deal that's fully guaranteed. (Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport)

Jebrick, he doesn’t say they can’t get six comp picks. He says they WON’T and in the very next sentence says why: because of incoming free agent signings specifically with the Harrison signing canceling out Elandon Roberts and more free agent signings to come cancelling out who they already lost.jebrick wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 12:13 pmYou quoted the paragraph where he says you can't get 6 picks.

In summary, he shows no understanding of there being a cap of four picks you can get. The Steelers can lose 10 qualifying FAs and sign 0 replacements and still would only get 4 comp picks. This is what his article shows no understanding of.
*reserves the right to roots for losses*
And since he was released, he doesn’t count towards the compensatory pick formula for 2026.CzechSteeler wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 9:41 pmWe have our starting outside corner and mentor to JPJR then.Thrillsseeker wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 9:36 pmCB Darius Slay: Signing a one-year, $10 million deal that's fully guaranteed. OK, I was wrong.
I went back and re-read it and saw towards the end of the article he mentioned they can't get more than 4. Poorly written article though. I mean, this is just a badly laid out paragraph:

It's almost like he wrote most of the article and then realized right before submitting it that you can't get more than 4 comp picks, and threw that blurb in.As things stand on Tuesday morning, the Steelers are set to net an additional third, four, fifth and two sixth-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. They won’t get all of those. They will sign other players — and can’t have more than four, anyway.

When is the date to sign FA that don’t count towards the comp picks.

Appendix V of the 2020 Collective Bargaining Agreement contains the binding bylaws of the compensatory pick system. App. V, §1 explains the basics as follows:
[A] Compensatory Free Agent (“CFA”) shall be defined as an Unrestricted Free Agent (“UFA”) who: (i) signed with a new Club during the prior free agency signing period […] prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time, on the Monday following the NFL Draft for that League Year1 […]; and (ii) ranked within the top 35%2 of all League players […]. Clubs that lose to other Clubs a greater number of CFAs than they sign or acquire from other Clubs shall be eligible to receive a Compensatory Draft Selection in the College Draft to be held in the following League Year subject to the provisions set forth below.
1 Prior to 2015, this date was June 1, and from 2015-2019 this date was the second Tuesday after the NFL Draft.

I think he could be a decent spare part WR for a good OC. Doesn’t seem to shy away from the dirty work of football. He needs a creative OC to succeed on offenseSteelafan77 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 7:51 pmSpecial teams ace? Conditional scheme specific Receiver?
