Isn't that why he started ahead of him at UGA?Dan Smith--BYU wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 8:02 pmBrock Bowers is immediately better than D. Washingston
Also that TD play design was the best use of personnel and formation that any of us have seen from the Steelers half a decade.
Fields is playing well. He does that 3-4X per year.
Excellent throw there and great play calling. Credit where credit is due.

Great start to this game!! You think this place was negative check out the meltdown on the Ravens board.

It was a good call and execution. Extremely rare for the Steelers to get a relatively easy TD toss.stillthere wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 8:52 pmIsn't that why he started ahead of him at UGA?Dan Smith--BYU wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 8:02 pmBrock Bowers is immediately better than D. Washingston

From a historical perspective, if Kenny Pickett is Mark Malone and Mason Rudolph is Bubby Brister and Mitch Trubisky is Neil O’Donnell then Justin Fields is Kordell Stewart which means we are one Tommy Maddox away from our next Ben Roethlisberger.

He hasn't had a running game, coaching or very impressive weapons.
Fields developing isn't out of the question.
Maybe not likely but he has the support system in place to thrive.

That was both funny and surprising (surprising that he said that on television)
Belichick said, it doesn’t matter the players or the decade
Tomlin same shit every game

Hey…we got one today, don’t be greedy!
Need a sack or a turnover here.
Get the offense right back on the field.

Who had first TD of the year to Darnell Washington on their bingo card?
Queen with his 2nd tackle

Dude Fields is playing well.
Still gets the deer in headlights thing when the pocket closes down, but he's throwing the ball well and is making plays with his legs.

For Fields talent set, I think he's in the perfect system.
Run heavy, building a very strong offensive line.
Arthur Smith knows what he's doing and Pickens and Freirmuth are quality receivers.
They aren't going to do what the Bears did and want Fields to play hero ball. He can't do that.
In a conservative offensive system, he could become a quality QB.

He’s not playing terribly but I’d hardly call it playing well. I mean I’m a curve, sure. For him this is definitely playing well.
Hey look decent chance they have a two-game lead over CIN & BAL after today, so good job if that happens.

Porter might be a Pro Bowler when this season is over.

3-4 wins from Fields
And
3-4 wins from Wilson,
Then throw in a few wins from Boswell and the defense
And
We might be a contender.
NHALS secured. Check.
In the playoffs. Check
AFCN Champions. Check
Beat the Texans. In progress

Let's see what he does going forward but his mobility is a major plus.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 8:59 pmHe’s not playing terribly but I’d hardly call it playing well. I mean I’m a curve, sure. For him this is definitely playing well.

Gotta avoid turnovers and dumb plays which he became famous for in Chicago where he had absolutely no help (coaching or weapon and offensive line wise.)
But Fields is loaded with talent....and they might be tapping into it.
We'll know soon enough.
