Oh Skippy how far you have fallen
I liked how he said the CFL and AFL were "a lot of work for not much money." He still plays kicker, right?

IMO, it was this self serving sense of entitlement attitude that cost Reed his NFL career in the end. I see Reed is still the same ole Reed. Humble yourself man! League minimum is still better than getting a real job working way harder and may pay you somewhere in the neighborhood of $50K-$75K a year.
Trust me, if I was looking for easy work, and had the skills to kick professionally, kicking in the CFL or afl is easier than my job. For more money, to boot, I would guess.

Arena Football: Under the AFL's collective bargaining agreement, players make $830 per game, meaning AFL Players earn $14,940, before taxes, in an 18-game regular season that spans four months. They also have the option to rent a subsidized apartment for $150 a month, an amenity that used to be free.
CFL: League minimum for rookies is $30,000. League minimum for veteran players is $32,000, with average salaries in the league around $45,000.Starters and CFL superstars may expect to usually earn between $60,000 and $120,000 Canadian... The highest paid player in the CFL, Toronto quarterback Ricky Ray, was slated to receive $500,000 Canadian. In 2010, the league's team salary cap was $4.2 million Canadian.
I'd be comfortable to believe that I and many of you, make way more than most AFL & CFL players.

BTW I was referring to the NFL when implying league minimum.

For a 10 year vet like him it would be $955K.
But for someone like him to go to the CFL or the Arena League, you'd have to be doing it for fun. But who knows, the dummy could be broke!
It's pretty amazing that up until the 1990s the NFL and CFL weren't that far apart in salaries, I can remember when sometimes, big time 1st round NFL draft picks would go the CFL out of college because they where offered more money, like Rocket Ishmael from ND, for example.
I can't see Skippy coming back though, after 4 years out of the game.

Keith fucking Gary. Remember being a big fan of the pick then awww fuck.
Reed is all right in my book. He made some clutch kicks when no one else could kick for shit at HF. Not saying I want him back but more power to him if he can avoid the hamster wheel a couple of more years.

After looking at your salary post, I reconsider. He'd be making less than me. But his job would be easier.

I remember when Baltimore had a CFL team in the '90s, one day they posted the players salaries in the paper, I was shocked, even then I made more than all but about 3 players, the QB, the star RB and this 15 year vet all-CFL DT. It's been a long time since people made serious money in any football league other than the NFL.

1 US Dollar equals 1.07 Canadian Dollar
I saw an interview yesterday with Ocho Cinco, he's playing for the CFL's Montreal Allouettes, for the season he's getting "a fraction of his single game NFL paycheck", but he say's he's "rich" and he's not doing it for the money.
Towel dispensers are quivering throughout the greater Pittsburgh area.

Funny thing about Skippy was he was always sort of stubby. I can imagine him now kicking would look like a giant midget or perhaps the Pillsbury dough boy
