For me offense was far too inconsistent. Now I know no one really knows what the exact play call was watching from the KDKA broadcast and I'm not pretending I can identify calls. What I am saying is the offense looked far too inconsistent IMO for it being this time of the year. Should be on a roll and easily able to get your team in a scoring position. How many times did that offense make it past the 50 yardline tonight? Bad showing even if they are trying to hide their double secret play calls for the season. Huge Disappointment.

Defense looks on the upswing and JJ stood out for sure tonight. I did miss like 7-8 minutes of the second quarter too so not sure who else was making noise. Anyway, I Ride win lose or draw. Rather Win though. :)

ST's is making me take stock options in tums and Excedrin. They stunk up the joint as per their usual showing.

/end rant

Snoop is right

and so are all the folks here who have been posting "fuck haley" threads the last 2 years. We will see many more of those this year, unfortunately.

I still can't believe AR2 hired that jagoff

As of 2 weeks ago I was 100% sure Ben would never leave Pgh -- family here, kids, wife, long-time QB etc -- franchise QBs don't just leave, unless they are pushed out by douchebag owners (Irsay). So I really can't see him leaving, as the Rooneys have made it clear they want him to stay.

BUT, now I'm beginning to see the point of view of some posters who say BEN might be the one who wants to leave -- again, it seems unlikely, but I'm beginning to see the argument -- if the offense is as putrid during the season as it has been during the pre-season, then i could see Ben eventually saying -- fuck this shit, i'm going somewhere to win -- and who knows, maybe he does move to AZ with his buddy BA -- helluva lot warmer, and not a bad place to raise your kids.

no one is playing their starters -- but how many teams go SCORELESS in the new NF Arena League?

pretty hard to get shut out by 3rd string defenses in the new high flying high scoring NFL

in case you missed it, our starters got shut out last week as well, by the Eagles starters AND backups

just as a point of comparison our AFC rivals scored tonight (also playing backups) 22, 33, and 35 points respectively

Just watched the Seahawks on the road go down and score on 4 plays. Easy as shit.

Our offense fucking sucks balls. Fucking blows.

I know it's only preseason, but I am genuinely scared this team is going to struggle to score 10 pts a half.

Haley has to come out with no-huddle FOREVER.

Just unload the entire thought of offense he has in his head.

This is his shot with a Hall of Fame QB

You're assuming Tomlin signs off on that.

My expectation is it will be the same failed philosophy of try to establish the run, play bend-don't-break defense, and try to win a battle of attrition. I don't think Ben has the horses to pull-off any miracles.

How can Rooney rake in the dough from this game, charge the prices they charge, and deposit the money in the bank when the team he employs throws up a fucking goose egg in front of a home crowd full of schmucks that paid to watch this shit.

Shows some damn balls, Rooney and refund some cash. Good lord almighty.

Seems like you're in denial a wee bit.

This team is ass sans Ben and maybe 2 others.

Not to mention that thing we have at OC.

As was pointed out, our three rivals were playing their fourth stringers last night too, and they all scored in the 20s and 30s.

And our first team got shut out last week as well...by first AND second string opposition. Not until third stringers for the Iggles started mixing in could the first team score.

That was OBVIOUSLY a wasted draft pick!

You can say "It was just preseason" all you want, but I see the Ravens scrubs every week putting up 20-30ppg, of course I LOVE scoring and some people think it's not all that important.

And Snoop Dogg nails it with his "Fuck Haley" rant! "Fuck Art2!" While you're at it, he was the asshole that demanded we slow down the offense (Just IMHO with NO PROOF, no need to argue) and "get back to our roots" BS!

Well hopefully it is "just preseason" and with the 1st teamers out there for 60 minutes next week we'll see something good, like maybe putting up a mediocre number of points for 2014 football, LIKE THIRTY.

That's because they aren't restricted by a meddling owner obsessed with a stupid tradition or identity if you will.

Haley is holding this team back. He held both the Cardinals and the Chiefs back. He needs to open it up and air it out. This is 21st century football. Lack of talent? We've seen coaches do more with less. And Tomlin needs to make some demands. He's been here seven years already. He's needs to cease being a figurehead.

So be it. I'd still refund some money. Lord knows ppl around the Burgh area could use it.

That choice is not Haley IMO it is Tomlin. He views it as a gimmick and not a plan. What I thin he fails to note is that at this time it is their only chance. Even bullheaded Billy realized when he had no other choice and let TD Tomy throw it around

I'd call a suspect OL and shit for receiver outside of AB more than a "lack of talent". I'd say Ben has a bottom quartile caliber offense around him.

there sure is a lot of smoke out there, starting to think there might really be a fire.

Sounds like 2010 to me. This O-line has been bad for a while. But when you have a horrible offensive coordinator, the results on the field are worse. The real difference is the defense. The middle of our defense is gone - Hampton - and we don't have a real pass rusher.

The way to win is to outscore opponents. Offense has to pick up and it can with the talent we have.

The Problem with Yinzer Nation is, rather than making THROW IT AROUND a primary plan , they act like it should only be a last resort, I'm not sure what it will take to get this franchise to look at a calendar and see what year it is, and game plan accordingly.

I will be sacrificing live chickens, speaking in tongues, dancing around an open fire, carrying around about 50 rabbits feet, shooting any black cat that I see and praying like fuck that Ben doesn't get hurt. I can't barely imagine the shit show this season would turn into.
