I figured it was just a matter of time. Took a lot longer than I expected, though. Rosenhaus really hung on trying to shake a few more bucks out of AB.

But I wonder if there's another shoe to drop and Rosenhaus decided AB is done in the NFL.

Wow, pretty sure there isn’t a bigger indication that someone is off their rocker than getting dropped by Rosenhaus, especially considering ABs upside if he signs with a team. That’s easily millions in the pocket of the agent.

Might be a ploy to dismiss AB's meltdown as some sort of psychotic break rather than AB just being a natural born asshole. Only way he's coming back is if they are like "I'm bipolar and now I have counseling and meds".

My opinion....DR told AB after all the crap he’s pulled....he has no chance of playing again UNLESS he demonstrates that he recognizes his problem....and addresses it so his next potential team can at least say they brought him back with the understanding he received treatment.

I think DR sold this “plan” to AB and told him get help or you’re screwed....no more big checks. Then DR can reunite and get his loot.

I’m just not sure of any treatment protocol for being an asshole.

Agree he's beyond help. But I bet they can pay off a doctor to give him a diagnosis and say he's been treated so the NFL will give him another shot.

Of course, and I'm not sure where this will fall under the CBA, but in the past the league has had to approve the doctor & treatment program in order to be reinstated (assuming he actually is indefinitely suspended).

You can get a diagnosis for anything these days, especially if it proves "economically beneficial" for someone with an income potential like AB has.

...I just don't think his ego will allow him to "stoop" to those terms...

I share your opinion. The next question is : Will he seek treatment, and from whom. And will he do it just for PR purposes it probably won't make a difference, though.

Most people quit therapy because it involves introspection and looking at your demons. It's truly difficult work.

The number of people who commit long term to the process and come out healthier are around 15%.
The remainder make excuses that their therapist wasn't good enough or they just go through the motions to say they went for their spouses or employers sake.
