That is a tough list of at least 7 or 8 playoff teams.

9 games against 2020 playoff teams...including 5 on the road.

Ouch! Seems like this is the year if ever. Next year will be a challenge for sure.

Btw, I count only 16 games. Aren't they supposed to play 17 games next year?

If the Steelers win it all, Ben rides off into the sunset, they let the FAs fly off... that looks like a good year to go 2-14 and get themselves a nice shot at a QB.

What QBs will be available the 2022 draft, just out of curiosity?

Hard to say, until we see who declares and who does not this year. Could be Trey Lance/Desmond Ridder/Mac Jones, could be Micale Cunningham, Brock Purdy, Tanner Morgan, Myles Brennan, Davis Mills, Chase Brice, or Dylan McCaffrey.

NFL plans to expand regular season to 17 games per team in 2021
Published: Dec 27, 2020 at 07:00 AM
by Tom Pelissero & Ian Rapoport

The NFL is planning to expand the regular season to 17 games in 2021 -- a historic move that would generate new revenue and could at least slightly soften an anticipated drop in the salary cap next year, sources say.

An announcement may not come for weeks, if not months, since the NFL must first negotiate at least one new media contract in order to make the move to 17 games in 2021, per the collective bargaining agreement. But as one team source apprised of discussions said: "We're all anticipating it's going to happen."

In turn, the preseason would be cut to either two or three games. There still would be one bye week per club, extending the total regular season to 18 weeks and pushing back the Super Bowl into the second week of February.

For perspective: New England, Houston, San Fran, Minnesota, and Philly were all playoff teams in 2019.

The Dolphins, Browns, Colts, Cardinals, and Bucs all finished under .500 in 2019. The Rams, Bears, and Steelers all missed the playoffs last year.

The Jets went from 7-9 with a promising young QB to full tank mode.

Judging strength of schedule this far in advance is a fool's errand. Some teams over-performed this season. Some teams will do it next year. The inverse will also be true. The injury bug will hit someone. Above all, rosters will change.

This. People get way to fixated on who was what last year. So much can change. This isn't really even an accurate barometer in Week One of 2021, and is as useless as, well, name your simile by the end of any given year.

That's a mildly depressing list of available QBs, B2B, particularly if Lance and Jones come out this year (not sold on either of them, either FWIW).

Ridder would be great, if he doesn't come out. Kedon Slovis? Someone we're not even talking about now? Hard to say.

At least a couple out of all those underclassmen just HAVE to stay in, just because of diminished returns in terms of selection slot. If Ridder comes out, and he's there at the back end of R1 this year, do you just go ahead and pull the trigger? I'm a little unsold on him, and while I've not seen too much yet, not in love with Slovis, either. If I'm sitting with a top five pick? Not sure. Lot of football next season, to be sure.

I think Ridder is a 2nd round pick right now, but we'll see how things progress towards the combine/draft.

It seems to me Ridder wants to be Maholmes 2.0. I don't see it, he's not close, imo. Maybe in a few years he gets a little closer, but I don't think it happens.

I said it in the college forum and I’ll say it here...
Ridder is another of those good college QBs that won’t translate to the NFL.

He's pretty ballsy. I think he could be somewhere between Peak Maddox and Josh Allen.

I like the North Carolina QB, Sam Howell, but he's not very big.

Agreed. Just like his game. I'd take a guy like him over career backup Mac Jones all day/every.
