Someone brought up Kerrigan in another thread and that would be ideal but I don't have a clue what he would cost. The fit would be amazing though. Even if it is a 1 year deal even though he seems like a guy you would want to sign to at least a 2 year deal if not 3 with the third being a year you could cut him. He has been in the league a while now.

I've been watching some film on Quincy Roche. I think he can be good. Is quick/fast and has good hand/ arm technique - but I ain't no expert. He can be coached up.bradshaw2ben wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 1:11 pmThey need:

LB coverage depth they see with johnson?
I think they see McFarland as the change of pace back with speed.
Slot DB as gilbert and brown. I posit they aren't signing any FA
Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good you are, the pigeon is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

They mentioned that they like Johnson as a downhill guy and although he has potential for coverage that’s his weakest skill set.COR-TEN wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 2:41 pmI've been watching some film on Quincy Roche. As for edge, even if Quincy Roche shoots the moon, they still need depth.

I watched video of Johnson this morning, and there was a play where he was covering Kyle Pitts step for step. Only one play, but it’s encouraging. They mentioned that they like Johnson as a downhill guy and although he has potential for coverage that’s his weakest skill set.
I’ll say this, with the caveat that. yes, it was a highlight video, but I saw more out of Johnson in that video than I ever saw of Devon Bush in his collegiate career.

I think Colbert had some moves in his pocket once the Comp Formula ended.

I thought we would have heard of some potential visits.
What about Left Tackle?
Howard Griffith had to resort to chop-blocking him during the 1997 AFC Championship Game. An incredulous Kirkland asked Griffith, “Why do you have to use cheap tactics like chop-blocking?” Griffith replied “Why do you have to be a 300-pound linebacker?”
Basically tell him Highsmith gets 65% of the snaps; he gets 35%. With Watt, you figure he gets 85% of the snaps and Kerrigan gets 15%.stillthere wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 6:20 amSomeone brought up Kerrigan in another thread and that would be ideal but I don't have a clue what he would cost. Kerrigan gets 50% of snaps where he can go full throttle. Highsmith also gets to go more full throttle.

This makes sense to me. Also if Roche can come on quickly we could end up with a nice group of OLB's by the end of the season.zeke5123 wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 2:52 pmBasically tell him Highsmith gets 65% of the snaps; he gets 35%. I am just hoping we do add one of those vet Olb and think Kerrigan fits best
I agree about Kerrigan. I have no delusions that he is even on their radar...steelmann58 wrote: ↑Wed May 05, 2021 7:02 pmI am just hoping we do add one of those vet Olb and think Kerrigan fits best

Another rotational / depth player looks necessary. The position is too important not to have 3 proven options.
Poke-Marsh was basically a useless Squirtle.

We just need one body that fills a void
Still
June 1st cuts is my guess.

Keith Butler said last Sunday or Monday that is on the to do list. They are probably waiting to see. OTA's and rookie camps are just a few days away now.steelmann58 wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 8:21 pmSounds right Jobu guess I was hoping to nail that vet olb that the team needs to back up Watt since the depth there is very concerning

I can’t believe they will go with a 6th Round Rookie as well a career Journey Man at one of the most important spots for this defense

They are at $10M in cap.
Factor in sogning draft picks and taxi squad guys it goes down to $5m, which is the cushion they always want going into the season.
Tuitt can always be restructured though. And I think they will do just that.
Thats the money they can use for a vet. Maybe not one as good as Kerrigan but hopefully someone who has been cut less times than Marsh.
Maybe Justin Houston? Shaquile Calhou? John Simon? Aaron Lynch?
Why did they have to let Ola Adenyi walk. Really eviscerated the position

Needs Backup OLB to back Up Watt the guys they have now is a big concern. The next is Safety
Could Hicks help out in our LB room. He's cheap for his level of play and could be a nice ROI.
If he's a fit, I'd give up a late rounder for him.

The Cardinals gave LB Jordan Hicks permission to seek a trade.
The team drafted Hicks' replacement in LB Zaven Collins out of Tulsa. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Hicks is "a respected leader" and the Cardinals "wants to do right by him." Hicks took a $3 million pay cut and now will make $2 million base salary with a chance to make $1 million in 2021, Rapoport reports. He could stay with Arizona as a backup linebacker. Hicks, 28, led all Arizona linebackers with 12 QB pressures last year and was graded by Pro Football Focus as the 39th best linebacker in 2020.
