Cowher interview with Ben

Post by Greeksteel » Sun Jan 09, 2022 4:23 pm

This is great stuff. Also in assessing Bens career and how he was criminally underrated in my opinion, as I've always thought he was the most underrated and under appreciated superstar that i think ive ever seen play, forget about the analysts, listen to the players who played the game or coached it up close, pretty much all of them will tell you he is one of the greats in the history of the game. We were lucky to be fans and watch this guy play. One last time today, Thank you Ben.

Damn

This is it probably.

He was drafted 3 months after my first kid was born.

She will be a freshman at WVU next year.

I remember stuff like picking her up and running through the house during that GB game where they won on that throw to the end zone with no time left.

Crazy

That was tremendous. How different would things have been if Cowher and Ben’s entire careers aligned together?

Yep. Cowher would have gotten more out of Ben, imo. He would've held him more accountable, helped him grow up faster as a young person, and mature as a QB/team leader earlier.

Great question Perch, In my opinion, I say better with Cowher...Colbert/Cowher was a better combo than Tomlin/Colbert, better coaching staffs for sure and i just think Cowher ran an overall football operation better than Tomlin. However, I also think Tomlin gave more free reign to Ben than maybe Cowher would have. I guess either way Bens talent would have shone thru.

And as an aside i'm with you Perch, Ben is my favorite athlete of all time.

I only caught the last part with Ben thanking Cowher for all he did for him. Personally I can't thank Ben enough.

I don't think it would have been as much between Ben and Cowher... I think it would have been more with Cowher and Ben's teammates that the biggest gains would have been seen.

Cowher molden players into Men... Tomlin lets these jagoffs post dance videos on tic toc and lets guys film post game locker room speaches.

You can call that a players coach thing all you want, and a lot of guys talk about running through a wall for Tomlin... I think they are full of shit... saying what they need to say to be on TV, because when push came to shove, they didn't run through that wall, they got their shit pushed in.

With or without Brady’s career aligning as well?
