Was at the game Sunday
And I'd like to share a few observations. We were in row 3 in the corner of the end zone so we could see the players close up.
1-It was a constant, soaking rain. I watched some of the game on my dvr when I got home and it didn't show just how bad the rain was. I'm amazed there weren't more fumbles or picks off of bad passes.
2-Hollywood Brown is very slight, just tiny.
3-Dionte Johnson is so quick. I was trying to follow him and man can he get separation.
4-Gentry is f'n huge.
5-Bush is small. Can't believe what they gave up for him.
6-Steelers fans were there in force and the Ravens fans we spoke with were cool but were saying they can't wait until Ben retires.
7-No one wants to pay Lamar Jackson big money.
8-Parkking lot H is absolute garbage and it took us 45 minutes to go the 100 yards to get the hell out of there.
I also met Highsmith's dad before the game. I see this big dude walking in with a Highsmith 56 jersey on and then I noticed he had an embroidered hat with Highsmith's silhouette and #56 on it. I said "are you related to 56?" He said, "yes, I'm his dad" I said something to the effect of Steelers fans are glad to have him here and he said he hopes the focus on Watt will allow to get a few today. Very nice guy.
Anyway, it was a great time, especially since it was my son's 20th birthday and the first time he, my daughter, wife and I were able to attend a Steelers game together since the 2011 playoff win against the Ravens in Heinz. He is 3-0 with his other game being the Dolphins playoff win a few years ago. Bring on KC!

Great stuff, Balto. Thanks for sharing. Glad you were able to make such great memories with your family -- keep doing that with the ones you care most about!Baltostiller wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 3:44 pmAnd I'd like to share a few observations. Cheers and Goooo Steelers!

Great story about Highsmith’s dad. What a great kid he seems to be.
And speaking of great kids, happy birthday to yours.
Awesome birthday present, man! Good inside information, too. Ravens fans up here are still pretty split about Lamar, but he's like licorice or Terry Bradshaw during his career: opinions are strong one way or the other, for sure.
Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...

If I knew how to post pics and Video I would. Claypool scored right in front of us and the Steelers jumped offsides in front of us on 4th and 1 which led to a field goal. It was very cool being that close, even though it was wet. We all had our steeler gear on, my son in his 26 jersey with no name (removed Bell the night before) my daughter in her Casey Hampton and me in my Ben from his rookie year. Great time.

Great recap Balto.
The Devin Bush pick has the potential to set this franchise back a few years. What a disaster.

So they roll with Tyler Huntley or they completely overhaul their Offense with a rookie QB.
My counter to the talking heads talking about the Ravens' injury situation this season: What do you think their roster will look like when they break the bank for Lamar?

I bet there are zero fights when it is raining. I was at this same last game in 2020.Baltostiller wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 3:44 pmAnd I'd like to share a few observations. We were in row 3 in the corner of the end zone so we could see the players close up.

Photo copy of the weather. I left early as the loss was obvious. When it rains that much people are looking straight ahead and not distracted by periphery stuff…hence no fights and little obnoxious behavior. Cold and rain? Forget about it. I’d like to see the stats on stadium incidents during foul could rainy weather.
Bush is a tiny which is most of his problem. He plays tiny too.
Jibbs has a serious flaw in his ability to “eyeball test”.Bush is small. Can't believe what they gave up for him.
Dri
Bush
Just based on their size alone even a complete novice simpleton should be able to tell those two do not have NFL size for their respective positions.
Pathetic.
That is nothing at all. Last time I went to Raiders/Steelers at the Oakland Coliseum we got there too late to get a good spot. So were directed to like this overflow lot off to the side from main lot.Parkking lot H is absolute garbage and it took us 45 minutes to go the 100 yards to get the hell out of there.
Now this lot shared a chain link fence with a homeless encampment but that’s another story.
Anyways, after the game, you couldn’t leave that lot until ALL other lots had emptied.
Took almost 3 fucking hours. Luckily still had some chow in the ice chest so fired the Hibachi back up.
Given it was yet another loss to a bad Raiders team (this was the “time pressure” game) + cost of tickets + all the time allocated I got home thinking man Indo t care if I ever attend another NFL game in person.
Real hard to beat the couch and big screen at home.
Thanks for sharing, Balto! Glad you had a good time. I grew up in the Baltimore area and my one time going to a game was not a pleasant experience due to the fans. Curious the reception he received? Still know a lot of people in that area and all they ever talk about are Ben's off-field issues early in his career.
Happy Birthday to your son! Mine is 20 as well and I love hanging out with him watching sports.

Thanks for this post, "Balmer". For all this bedwetting, bellyaching, pissing and moaning we do here (guilty as charged), your post is a prime example of why I keep returning to this forum. Love these personal insights by posters here.Baltostiller wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 3:44 pmAnd I'd like to share a few observations. Don’t feel bad Ballmore…one previously lived 100’s of miles away and when you visited they handed you a big book with sticky pages and clear film with 50 photos that probably represented a decade from their whole life and if you were lucky maybe another book or two representing the other decades. But you did see interesting photos that told a story and showed a progression of life.Baltostiller wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 4:40 pmIf I knew how to post pics and Video I would. Now we take thousands of pictures and hours of videos and nobody really ever sees them.

I think this happens a lot but it was weird, you'd go in to the bathroom and check the monitors on the way out and think "oh great the rain stopped"swissvale72 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 1:41 amIs a great writeup.....and I was wondering about the rain.
Then you get back out and it is still a nasty steady rain.
I've often wondered why apple even created a "hidden folder." All you need to do is go to albums and scroll down.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 2:35 amDon’t feel bad Ballmore…one previously lived 100’s of miles away and when you visited they handed you a big book with sticky pages and clear film with 50 photos that probably represented a decade from their whole life and if you were lucky maybe another book or two representing the other decades. Remember when you could password protect folders? Files?

You still can. It is called the calculator file app. Looks like a calculator, works like a calculator, but when you put the right password in the magic picture folders appear.COR-TEN wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 6:07 pmI've often wondered why apple even created a "hidden folder."
