If Tuitt does not show up this week
I was wondering if Tuitt does not show up this week do the Steelers make a business decision and add a FA Run Stuffer?

Assuming this happens, I sign someone like Eddie Goldman or Akiem Hicks.

Tuitt needs to show up.
To get another mysterious injury.
Causing him to miss the season.
While collecting (stealing) a paycheck.

Are OTAs mandatory? If not, I wouldn’t expect him to be there.
Nah it’s too early still.beerbrother wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 12:03 pmTuitt needs to show up.

That “injury” will come in training camp. Or a few weeks into the season.
He will do just enough.
Hoping for him to prove me incorrect.

Stick a fork in him
What a sad sack

Vets often skip OTA's. Whether Tuitt is there or not means nothing.
Let's see what kind of shape he comes into camp at. Not sure what happens if you're on PUP and then suffer a "season ending" injury.

No PS self respecting rep would want him at OTAs if his injury was as severe as we are led to believe.
If he is curtains for the season, it would be worth it to trade the number one pick next year for a sure thing, similarly to the Fitzpatrick trade.

My take is he's been in ice cream therapy for the last 12 months.

It going to come down soon to business with Tuitt. Either he wants to play or the Steelers need to cut him and sign one of those FA Run Stuffers
Hicks is 32 and has been riddled with injuries. His best days look to be behind him.
Goldman is interesting. He's only 28. He sat out during the COVID year and did not come back in good shape last year. He struggled quite a bit. Now, sure, he'd be better in a 3-4 as a nose tackle, but I'm worried if his heart is in the game.

And he is a no-show

Heyward seemed pretty positive he's going to be back in the fold soon in interviews.

Considering he sat on his ass last year and collected
% of his paycheck....
Awww never mind....

Heyward also said on more than one occasion last season, that he was believed Tuitt would show up in 2021 also, if I remember correctly.
https://steelerswire.usatoday.com/2021/ ... hon-tuitt/
https://heavy.com/sports/pittsburgh-ste ... r-him/amp/However, fellow defensive lineman remains optimistic that Tuitt will play this season. Heyward addressed the media on Thursday morning and echoed that same sentiment.
I’m not trying to be insensitive in any way, but I’ll believe Tuitt is playing for the Steelers in 2022, when I see him playing for the Steelers in 2022.“He’s working his way back. You know, he’s gone through some stuff this offseason and we’re just going to continue to be there for him,” making reference to how Tuitt lost his brother, Richard Bartlett III, in a tragic hit-and-run accident in June.
Same, but this was a voluntary minicamp, and I feel like the knee jerk "Tuitt didn't show up to something, let's start the hate thread" response is trite enough at this point to merit a devil's advocate post.

Yeah, everyone is like "we need an answer we need an answer we need an answer!!!!!". No we don't. There is plenty of time. If he needs to be cut, that will become quickly clear within days of the start of camp.
If the Steelers wanted to sign someone else as a potential replacement or not, they would. Alualu is pretty long in the tooth, and Tuitt is in his final year. So there's nothing preventing PIT from signing someone with an eye to the future. Then it must be the case they still believe he can play at a high level, this season.
The DL is old. Tuitt's "decision" isn't holding anything up except, apparently, some people's jimmies.

Exactly, on all counts (with a slightly smarmy "I went through a similar experience and I bounced back, therefore I'm better than him" dose of judgemental attitude usually tossed in from many to make it extra tiresome/irksome).

*reserves the right to roots for losses*
On a side note, weird seeing OTA photo blasts with no 7 in them. Training camp photo bursts will, I assume, be a similarly odd experience the first week or so this year.

It all business and the Steelers need to protect themselves in case especially with the running game being terrible

The Fitz trade went down because when Ben went down Miami thought we would have a top 10 pick at worst along with him wanting to get traded. Then the legend of Duck Hodges was born and Miami was mad that the pick was up around 20 or so.LakecrestSteeler wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 11:58 pm

Tuitt is done being a Steeler imo
I have the DL as Heyward Alualu Leal Loudermilk C Davis Adams Wormley with Tuitt being on permanent IR
That is a rough looking group.

Guess Cam was wrong to bad Hicks signed elsewhere
Ah, he went back to ND to get his degree in general studies, as well as continue to mourn the loss of his brother.
Maybe he got a degree in psychology.

After the tragic loss of my brother, Richard, and upon completing my degree from the University of Notre Dame, I know I am being called to move beyond the sport of football.
