Assume Canada fired, who do you want as OC?

For me, I’ll take Frank Reich
Proven track record. Respected coach. It’s time that Tomlin and Co get back to high pedigree coordinators and not potential scapegoats from Maryland to pin the poor season(s) on.
My job listing reads “Must have NFL coaching experience.”
Who you got and how does your job listing read?

Exactly. Tomlin will handpick his own yes man. Pretty sure Tomlin's coaching tree is a stick at this point. It’s where coordinators come to die. Not sure there are many coaches out there what want to be subservient to Aviators while also having a slim chance to further their career.
With all that said I’d personally like to see a college OC get a crack in the NFL. I think Mike Leach could do well. He has some HC experience and his offenses have done well no matter the team, conference or QB. But I’m just a layman with limited knowledge on the intricacy of how to run an offense. I do know that you need someone who uses the strengths of their players to their advantage instead of trotting out the same 10 plays a game.

Btw I love speculative poasts. It’s what makes a message board interesting but I’m pretty sure Canada will be back next season. Deuce likes consistency and Canada has managed to put together a few wins (even if it was against the dregs of the NFL) and they’ll want to keep him for another season for KP sake. Not saying I like it or agree with it but it’s totally plausible.

I didn’t get that memo. I haven’t watched espn or any news outlet in decades. He’d still be better than Canada.

That San Francisco offense is a thing of beauty. I was looking down the pecking order because I figure the prime candidates won't want to go to work for Tomlin, but I want in on what they're doing out by the Bay.

Think I'd rather have the Pens Mike Sullivan. At least we know he can coach
something.

I know it's not gonna happen, but I’d take (while paying them more to entice them here...cheap Rooney's not gonna do that for a coaching staff though

):
Ken Dorsey/Bills
Shane Steichen/Eagles
Mike Kafka/Giants (Rooney would NEVER do this to Mara)
Brian Callahan/Bengals
Frank Reich/HC fired by Colts
Frank Smith/Dolphins
Ben Johnson/Lions
Press Taylor/Jaguars
I know these guys are OCs elsewhere, but I would also consider some of them as a possible HC to replace Tomlin. Knowing Rooney will not get rid of him, I don't care if Tomlin stayed on as Head Cheerleader/Aviators-Motivator or whatever you want to call him -- just as long as he stayed away from my offensive side of the ball and all in-game decisions.

Someone suggesting a dead guy replace Canada to be OC next season and us agreeing he’d still be better than who we have in the booth now is one of the funnier sequences I’ve read on here in a long time.
RIP Leach.

i honestly believe the best way to ensure canada is fired is to make the playoffs. the embarrisingly bad destruction by KC or whoever they face in that game may be enuff to show that the wins of late come from a gelling OL an improved rookie qb and mostly an easier 2nd half schedule, not improved playcalling. it may take the playcalling being called out by the wildcard opponent like it was earlier this yr to remind Rooney that the non losing record teams of the league are having their way with and laughing at our coordinator more than not when we play them this yr. otherwise win out or lose a close divisional game and miss playoffs cuz dolphins win one or something and i'm afraid they will look at the recent games and say, "well, canada was starting to get it going there" "i mean, that jet sweep to Heyward was genius and it cemented the Franco game!" its counter-intuitive but i say making the playoffs is the best way to ensure change.

Completely disagree.
A playoff appearance after the way we started will have the media chirping like Jibbs is the second coming of Lombardi, Noll, and Walsh etc etc all rolled into one.
They will say this was his greatest season ever no matter how bad we get blown off the field in the wildcard round.
Jibbs will peacock and puff his chest with all the praise heaped on him all the while knowing his owner is completely satisfied just making it to the dance.
Doesn’t matter if the entire evening is spent sitting in a chair as nobody ask us to dance. Just being there is enough. All a crapshoot with no outcome Jibbs fault.
No. A playoff appearance cements that Oh Canada will be back.
And the reason is that the season will be viewed by the media, Jibbs, and tje Dunce as a huge success. So no reason to fire anybody.
They’ll bring the band back next year so that if next year the offense is bad they can always scapegoat Canada then.
It’s how Jibbs operates. Always has someone he can shift blame to.
Kind of like keeping Butler around even though Jibbs had taken away some of his duties. And when he needed a scapegoat, he fired him even though it’s his defense they are running.

Kellen Moore, current OC in Dallas. Of course, being former NFL QB doesn´t hurt. One can only dream..

Canada´s contract runs through 2023, not renewing his contract is enough (and Steelers´ way of operating).

thats exactly why i think it would work cuz they cant blame Ben for not being able to run Canadas offense they got him 2 qbs that can move in Mitch and Pickett, after saying Ben held back canada. show the same results this yr canada is the scapegoat its not going to be Kenny. the story would be Tomlin is amazing and nhals but canada was a weight he had to drag to keep the record alive

Just jumping in to say I don't quite get the fascination with Frank Reich around here.
He was a bust of an OC in San Diego, and had one good year in Philly. All of his success in Indy came with Nick Sirianni as his OC.
Maybe it's just the fact that he lost to freaking Jacksonville last year to blow a playoff spot that's soured me on him. I dunno.
